“Amazing staff, superb view and fab accomodation!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We were made to feel very welcome from the outset, the staff were very accommodating and recommended local walks and thing to do. The area is lovely and quiet with a very picturesque drive to the hotel. The food was excellent too! Overall, highly recommended and will definitely revisit!

We got a genuine welcome and a comfortable well-decorated en-suite room. There's a lovely residents lounge to relax in. Good breakfast - especially the black pudding! There's a bar reached through the dining room which can be quiet or very lively. No real ale which is a shame. The dining room has been decorated recently but could probably do with a complete overhaul to bring it up to the standard of other residents' areas, Dinner is served to non-residents and the food was reasonable quality but not great - you wouldn't travel miles to eat here but you can get an OK meal with a great view over the loch. Overall a very good place to stay in a fantastic part of the country.

Hi there - Thank you for your feedback. We have had a lot of questions as to why we don't do casked real ale rather than the bottled ales. So we decided certainly for the summer months to also trial a local IPA beer from River Leven Real Ales in Kinlochleven and it's going down a treat. Something we will keep doing certainly through the summer season !

Location, room, bar and dining room were all extremely good but in a style that's appropriate to the hotel's situation. The sitting room was a gem giving a tranquil and very comfortable retreat. The fitness centre is outside and the choice is yours - what more could you want! Food was excellent with portions of a sensible size. We're just left wondering how soon we can make a return visit.

Room Tip: Make sure you pay extra and have a loch view which is worth every single penny!

We stayed for one night on our way to catch the Kilchoan ferry to Mull.
Our twin room was small although the en suite was qutie large! The TV was small and the picture apalling. We gave up trying to watch it and went to sit and read in the comfortable lounge. At bedtime we found the beds really comfortable and had a good night.
Breakfast was good but we were surprised that the menu stated that porridge could be ordered in the colder months. We thought Scots ate porridge all the time.
As others have stated the hotel is in a lovely position overlooking Loch Sunart.

Booked a one-nighter not expecting anything special - just the hotel was in the right place. But what a pleasure - wished we could have stayed longer. Fantastic views over the loch, friendly helpful staff and an excellent restaurant with a wide menu and all at reasonable prices. Strongly recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view room

Hotel was great - wonderful views and food excellent. We had just had an operation on our dog {who was most welcomed) and Michelle even offered to get the chef to cook some chicken for her.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would love to visit again as the place was great, but just a little disappointed that the vanity unit was in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. However, all things considered, the hotel has made the best available use of the space and we thouroughly enjoyed our time here and would not hesitate to go again. Loads of wonderful walks and a really tranquil spot with the village centre just a short walk away. Check out the 'hide' a few miles down the road - wonderful views of basking seals.
