“Scenic location and lovely hosts”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

We stopped for two nights on our biking holiday across the Highlands. Our room was small but clean with an awesome view of the water. The hosts were friendly and solicitous. The food was good average pub type food. There are many wonderful places to hike nearby and I would have liked to do even more of that!

Hotel very nice. Had comfortable rooms and there was a lovely cosy Residents Lounge. Food in Restaurant very good, plenty of choice and good sized helpings. Substantial Scottish breakfast included but porridge was only available in cooler months.

This was certainly an excellent traditional hotel in a wild area, Ardnamurchan in the Scottish highlands. This ancient inn has been carefully refurbished to a very high standard, and run by a friendly couple who produced excellent food. A wildlife hide up the road treated us to many seals, herons and other seabirds. There were otters somewhere but we did not stay around long enough to see them. The Ardnamurchan lighthouse is well worth a visit. This is the town (village, really) that gave its name to the element Strontium. Good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have views of Loch Sunart.

I booked the first night of our holiday here as a surprise for my husband as he loves the isolation of Ardnamurchan.
I found it on the website and just imagined it to be a quaint little pub.
What a lovely surprise we had when upon arrival we found it to be your dream of a small country hotel, tucked away deep in the county with wonderful sea views and a comfortable cosy shooting lodge style lounge.
Our room was at the back as I got the very last room, but even so there was a nice view of the wood and the wild flowers.
The beds were comfortable and the room was very nice.
We loved the public areas and the lovely little restaurant at the front had breathtaking views and really good food. And very cheap.
You got a good helping of main course and it was very good quality.
We loved this little romantic place so much we hope to visit again soon.

Room Tip: A room at the front for a lovely view

Called in on a camping trip for evening meal. Friendly welcome asked when id like to eat, Not rushed as in some places, sat out side enjoying the superb beer. I had ordered the diced duck with chorizo and salad when ready i was shown into the loch view dining room and asked if i wanted to share a table with a fellow camper who id met earlier, the meal and service was super and at a very reasonable price. This is my second visit and i will be sure to return when next in rhe area doing hills or passing through. Thank you

we stayed whilst touring on our bike. We arrived a bit early as it was raining but we were greeted with offer of tea and hot bath and a facility to dry our clothes. After recovering we explored the local area and then had a fine supper in the conservatory followed by a drink in bothy bar. Good fresh cooked food and friendly staff. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.
The room was fine, clean and everything you need for one night stay. There is a residents lounge which is quiet and relaxing alternative place to sit. Secure lockup for our bikes.
