“Family wedding ”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

Had a fantastic stay at Brander Lodge Hotel for a family wedding. David and Sheila couldn't do enough for us all. The Rooms are lovely, the food was great, and the hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere. We all had a great time.
The hotel is situated at top of loch awe and a 40 min drive from Oban. It is surrounded by Beautiful scenery. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are travelling up west coast.

We came up for a wedding at the hotel, the place was packed and despite that management and staff were extremely helpful. We ended up staying for a week after the wedding and the service was consistent. Thanks to Dave and Sheila, bar staff and front of house Emma, Magda, Grant and Of course to Tam the chef.
We'd recommend the venue for weddings and other events.
New managers have been constantly improving the place. We can't wait to come back and see the hotel looking even better.

Room Tip: We stayed at room ten, the largest one. It was really good and quiet at the end of the corridor. Ev...

Thank you for your review. We so enjoy catering to all types of functions but none more than family Weddings, always such happy occasions. Our continued refurbishments will allow for Weddings of up to 130 guests once all completed and shall offer a great asset to the area and the community in general.

So glad you chose to stay on with for an extended break with us and enjoyed it so much.

Kind regards

My family and I had the greatest fortune staying at Brander Lodge last November. We cannot fault the standard of hospitality, the great food or how clean the rooms and bathrooms were. We were genuinely impressed. Our hosts ensured our total comfort and nothing was too much trouble. Every step of the way, we felt that our hosts were genuinely happy to have us.

We cannot say enough about the welcoming and enjoyable stay we experienced and wish them all the best. We will be back soon to visit.

Hi,

A really nice place to stay with super friendly staff and owner who go out of their way to help. The rooms are well done, wifi is good and the bedding is excellent. Showers are fine but need a bit of work but plenty of space.

Top location to go exploring and have adventures. Has a drying room too which is great for paddlers.

Cheers,

Willow

Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Very friendly owners, who helped us with selecting and booking a trip to Mull, Staffa and Iona. Rooms a tad bit small, but they were very clean and had a lot of light giving them a very welcoming look. The hotel has been recently refurbished (I think). It has good wifi signal (free), good food, a very good breakfast spread (including some yummy pancakes with maple syrup!!). The staff is friendly and helpful too. I forgot a tub of ice cream in your fridge in my hurry to leave though :)

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Tripadvisor, I am so sorry to be so slow at acknowledging. Reviews like this are much appreciated and do assist other travelers when selecting a place to stay.
Our room refurbishment in the way of full bathroom up grades is now complete and offers guests much more comfort when showering.

Out of the many appealing aspects of Brander Lodge, the hotel's Drying Room is worth an honourable mention. The manager told us that this feature is not only great for soggy walkers (like we were after a day on the local hills) but is also appreciated by the RNLI who visit the area for training.
The staff were universally friendly and put all at ease, including children. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and freshly made tasty hot food. While you're eating, you can read the weather forecast or notes about walks in the area - that way, you can decide whether you will likely need the Drying Room later or not...
It's a great value place to stay in a beautiful area.
