A most enjoyable one night stay.
The hotel has recently had money spent on it as it used to look very scruffy from the outside and even though I had passed it many times was not encouraged to stop.
Now it is very nice inside and out. The drinks are reasonable priced as is the food. I ate venison stew which was very tasty but some of the venison was a bit chewy. This was served with clapshot and red cabbage. Excellent.
Not so sure about fish and chips with a gin batter and £12.00, Ouch. The only thing that spoilt it was hot food served on COLD plates.
Do not go in the public bar as the language is disgusting!More
