Spent a week at this cottage. It is very comfortable and very clean. Superb location for touring about. Inverawe Smokery is a must only 7 mins drive away. Lots of nature trails there and a wee tearoom. The cottage is well equipped as others have said. However one or two suggestions to improve- the TV is not high def and really quite old - cathode ray. This was somewhat weird given everything else was so mod con. So if you are bringing your games console, don't forget to bring your HDMI to video/audio input cable- the TV has no HD or digital input. There are tiny TVs in each bedroom but apparently whoever controls the TV in the lounge controls the channel feed into all the bedrooms- we never used the TVs in the bedroom so not sure if this was the case. There is a small coffee cafetiere for 2- really need one for 6 or a coffee percolator. No shaver points so if you are using a shaver or electric toothbrush...either bring an adaptor or ask Joe the owner who will more than happily assist.
These are minor quibbles/suggestions in an otherwise very comfortable and beautiful lodge. On arrival, the owners had provided milk, coffee, tea, sugar, bread, eggs, butter, biscuits and cereal. The decks was a real treat and we did have opportunities to sit out as the early part of the week was quite warm. The only regret was we did not manage to use the sauna.
Taynuilt has an excellent shop and butchers.
Would definitely return if opportunity arises.
