“Comfortable cosy cottage in the beautifull village of Taynuilt”
Reviewed 14 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Taynuilt is served well by public transport and good local hotels. Oban, seafood capital of Scotland, is close by. Calmac Ferries run regular sailings to the Islands and a new Yacht Marina is currently being built in the harbour. The scenic views in this area are breathtaking. Places I would recommend to visit would include Ben Cruachan Hollow Mountain and Visitor Centre, a few miles outside Taynuilt. Also Ellenabeich and Easdale, crossing the famous Atlantic Bridge on the way.

“A very comfortable well-appointed cottage in a lovely area”
Reviewed 18 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This was a return visit for us to Clematis Cottage as we had previously enjoyed it a year ago. It is situated in lovely grounds and it is only a short walk to the shore of Loch Etive. It has good access to many areas for day trips out. Oban, with ferries to the isles, is only a 30 minute drive away.
There are plenty of walks of varying lengths and difficulties within easy reach.
The cottage itself is comfortable with many thoughtful extras.
The owners, Damon and Renate, are very pleasant helpful people.

This cottage was very clean, fairly modern with a good range of amenities. Situated in nice quite location. Scenery was brilliant. Great value for money. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend a stay here . Fresh eggs available in the morning from the local friendly chickens lol but seriously if you plan to be in the area, well worth staying for some chill time.

“Clematis cottage”
Reviewed 16 April 2017 for a stay in September 2016

Excellent cottage , very clean and comfortable . Beautiful setting with some stunning views. It's not far from the loch a 5 minute walk .Grahams the local village shop is great for self catering , but we did also buy some ready frozen meals from cottage owners which waa really convenient and excellent quality. Oban is easy to reach by car or train .

We had a brilliant week staying in the 1 bedroom Clematis Cottage. It is dog friendly which was the main reason we had booked this property and there are numerous walks for dogs in and around the area. The cottage is welcoming, well maintained and has everything you would require and in a beautiful location. It was wonderful to watch the red squirrels from the kitchen window and my husband was fortunate to see a red deer whilst out on an evening stroll with our dog. The cottage is a good base for exploring the area and whilst a car is very useful there is a train station in Taynuilt and the owners will arrange collection from the station. The owners have put together an excellent information guide on walks and places of interest which is in the cottage for you to read at leisure. At the site there were 4 other cottages of differing bedroom size plus a small amount of apartment accomodation. This is one holiday location we would definately recommend with or without a dog.

“Wonderful standard, beautiful area, spacious and clean”

Everything we could have asked for. Clematis cottage is one of several cottages and accommodation at Bonawe House, family run and very well managed.

The cottage was well appointed, comfortable and spacious as described. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners on hand when we arrived. Check in and out was very easy and quick. There is lots of information on hand for restaurants, sights and walks for the area.

Having 2 dogs we often find 1 bed properties small and struggle to find somewhere to put dog beds but there was no problem here and the wooden floors meant we didn't need to worry about muddy and wet feet on carpets, a bonus as it didn't stop raining for long whilst we were there. The bed is huge and comfortable and everything was clean.

We had groceries delivered from the village store, Graham's, for our arrival and the milk and other cold items were all put away. It only took one phone call and we just paid once there. They also have some lovely wines and beers.

There are plenty of walks from the cottage and the old iron furnace is right on your door step. There are lovely walks along the river; to tea rooms and down to the loch. The village is within walking distance (with Graham's) as is the fantastic Taynuilt hotel, where the food is to die for and they have the most fantastic selection of gins, whisky and beers. You also get a discount if you take a card from Bonawe House.

A fantastic place and area to stay in.

Liked best: Huge bed and the location
Liked least: Can't park directly by the cottage but you can unload by it, wasn't really a problem though as car park is very close.
