“Excellent Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

Greeted with a very warm welcome by Ellen and her husband (who seems to have a full time job painting and improving this very smart B&B).
Although not at the waters edge there was a good view of the Loch from our window and the village was only minutes away.
Breakfast, TV, Reading material, Parking all very good. My mobile phone did not work but I did not investigate further!!
We had planned to stay in Rothsay but came to the conclusion that Tighnabruaich was more interesting, better value and a day trip to Bute was easy via the ferry. And it was all of these- we will be back!

We stayed three nights over the bank holiday. This has to be one of the best B& B's I have ever stayed in.From start to finish our stay was well looked after. The rooms were cosy and the food top class and fresh. No bad points "sorry"!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are of a high standard!

We chanced on this little gem by accident and it will be no accident that we will visit again ! Friday night thinking, need some quality time to ourself - Tighnabruaich, a wee favourite place of ours, scenery, food, tranquility you name it its there..... x so we phoned laterooms.com and tried to book a couple of places we knew................... no luck then we saw Tregortha ! what afind. Situated on the High road, views from the conservatory terrace and 2 front rooms are of the kyles, marvellous and so beautiful.. The Landlady was so friendly and helpful, wethought we had known her for years. Beautiful room, all well equipped (towels, tea coffe etc) and a freshly cooked breakfast of choice. 16 years of love and care and it shows. The conservatory for breakfast was just perfect. Parking at the door and only a few mins walk to the shore the hotels and the restaurants x couldnt be better. Plus : two double bedrooms have roll a ways for the children and there is plenty of space in the room. Great Rates : £60.00 per room. As I said, a wee Gem........................ you must visit and dont waste money on the bigger hotels, you can still at there if you want and they will get you a taxi homes

Room Tip: Look for the little Gems, we did and we have found a real treasure, people come back time and time a...

Place was clean, warm and a delight. Breakfast was great, all cooked to perfection. The only thing that they could do with would be a towel rail in the ensuite bathroom. Everything else was just great.

My boyfriend and I booked a room for 1 night. Friends of ours booked a room for 2 nights. Our room was spotlessly clean, tea making facilities and comfortable bed with fresh towels and LCD screen television with freeview. Storage space was ample for stays of a couple of nights. The owner (whose wife was away a the time) couldnt have been more welcoming and recommended several places to go in and out of the local area for food and drink. Breakfast was excellent worthy of a 5 star hotel and tea and toast were offered more than once. Our friends did have a bigger and nicer room than us but that is the luck of the draw. I would defintely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

I recently stayed here with my partner and young baby. The room was clean and tidy yet lacked a bath despite being a family room. The communal area was locked at night so we had no where to sit while the baby slept. The breakfast room had a camera to watch over the guests, which isn't surprising considering any extra orange juice seemed to be too much to ask. And upon leaving I was called to see if we had 'taken' a hotel blanket - no thanks! Overall, it served its purpose. But in terms of being made to feel welcome and extra help being offered with the little one this receives a thumbs down.

We would just like to point out that we (Ian and Veronica) ,were not the owners in 2010, and would like to think , that if the authors came back now they would feel more welcome and at ease..

Regards

Ian and Veronica.
