We had stopped Tighnabruaich. The staff were great and so friendly. The Bistro was warm and welcoming. Very tasty lunch (BLT) great tea, coffee and delicious meringues - lovely place to stop.

“Nice cosy bistro”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

While passing through we decided to try the burnside bistro after looking at the reviews on tripadvisor.

We had a baked potato which was delicious but quite expensive for a potato (£8.95).

Tray bakes and cakes available too which looked lovely. Nice place but a tad overpriced.

“Great spot”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

Very good food, reasonable prices (in general) and warm staff. Certainly worth a visit if in the area. My only niggle was the Seafood Chowder at £8.95. Get a grip, you are a lovely café/Bistro not 'Fine Dining'!! Otherwise, no complaints.

“Hearty food after a day on the high seas”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Sailed from Gourock to Tignabruaich and worked up a very healthy appetite after 20-25 knot winds! My haggis stuffed mushroom starter was seriously great, spicy and crunchy.Loved it! Had a burger for the main course with (asked for) well fried chips. Home made burger and relish was great. The haddock dish looked great too. House wine, both red and white were more than acceptable. Atmosphere fun and I would recommend any other visiting pirate to visit!

“Delicious food and friendly service!”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

My boyfriend and I visited the Burnside Bistro on a whistle-stop trip of Tighnabruaich. The friendly staff managed to fit us in even though they were fully booked and it was on a Saturday evening. The food was delicious....cooked fresh to order and with high quality ingredients! We would definitely come back when we are in the area. Be careful though.....cards not accepted, take cash or your cheque book!!!!
