“Lovely! But mind the road to the cabin!”
Reviewed 11 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The cabin and location are both excellent. One big point to stress is to make sure that you take the correct road in to the site. If you are coming by car and drive through Tignhabruich into Kames, you will turn the corner at the post office and then most likely your satnav will tell you to take the first left after the police station. Do not take this road! It is a very small dirt track which does lead to the cabins.. hence we kept going.. and then got stuck! We found two very friendly locals who helped to push our car out the ditch it was stuck up the hill. They advised us that this happens quite a lot! Make sure you do not turn up the first left, keep going about 100m and there is a second left turning. This is a gravel road and leads to the same point.
The log cabin was beautifully clean and tidy on arrival. The view of the coast is amazing from the living area. Was a little too cold to sit out on the balcony when we visited, but it would of been a lovely view! Just down the road is a post office, a shop (Duncans) and a pub. Duncans was great, had everything you could need. The pub is situated in Kames Hotel. This is right on the sea front and served lovely pub grub with very friendly staff. This is by far the best pub in the area.
On route into Kames, the windy road in the mountains, there is a view point stopping place. We would highly recommend stopping there.. it is beautiful! From Kames, we visited Isle of Bute, Tarbert and Oban all within easy driving distance.
Overall, this is a lovely place to stay.
