“Gorgeous view, huge room, fabulous breakfast”
Reviewed 9 May 2011 for a stay in April 2011

My mother and I stayed overnight at Munro's during our quick tour of Scotland, and we were so glad we got off the beaten track a little bit to stay here. The Isle of Bute is truly beautiful, and our room at Munro's had an incredible view over the town and the bay.

It was by far the most spacious and comfortable room we stayed in during our 3 week trip to the UK, and my mom and I both agreed it was our best breakfast overall as well.

The breakfast room shares the same gorgeous view of the bay, so we got to relax and enjoy our delicious brekkies overlooking the water.

Would absolutely reccomend Munro's to anyone thinking of traveling anywhere near the Isle of Bute-- it was well worth the small detour.

A great escape - idyllic location with breathtaking views, hosts who make you feel like part of the family and know the island's gems to visit, great grub, comfy rooms, and pets to fill the void whilst on the road! I shall be back to sit on the patio in the sunshine with a good friends and gin and tonics! Thanks so much Joan and Andy for making our tirp so memorable. P.S. Thanks for serving up such great weather in April!!!!

“Small but perfectly formed”
Reviewed 1 May 2011 for a stay in April 2011

My partner and I spent two wonderful days at munros. Andy, Joan and their family were so welcoming and professional with great local knowledge. We stayed in room 5, that had a wonderful comfy bed. Most of our time was spent exploring bute..which was stunning..although am sure was helped by the glorious weather. The breakfast was fab with good selection for anyones taste. The garden at the b&b was wonderful and overlooked a great view of the sea...would thoroughly recommend to anyone

“Quality accommodation but far from a restaurant.”
Reviewed 26 April 2011 for a stay in April 2011

A high quality B&B with excellent accommodation and superb views over the Firth of Clyde. Extremely high quality breakfast served by the very friendly proprietor. The only disadvantage is its distance from a restaurant. It is not cheap - its high standards reflect in the price.

“Lovely B&B, lovely location”
Reviewed 21 March 2011 for a stay in March 2011

Just had a really nice weekend away on the Isle of Bute, staying at Munro's B&B. One of the nicest B&B's we've stayed in. The view from our room (Room2) was amazing, and the jacuzzi bath was a nice extra. The breakfast was nice. Owners really friendly and full of information. Would stay there again if we return to Bute.
Also had some of the best Indian food ever at Shona Gaon in Rothesay - well worth a visit to Bute just for that!! And had lovely homemade cakes at the cafe in Etterick Bay.

“Scottish hospitality at its best”
Reviewed 20 February 2011 for a stay in February 2011

We enjoyed our first visit to the Isle of Bute immensely and we have Joan and Andy at Munro's B & B to thank for that!
Room Two is magnificently appointed, with a little lounge area off the bedroom which has a super-king size bed. The bathroom is delightfully modern, with its jacuzzi bath and under-floor heating - the height of luxury for us!
The lounge is cosy and welcoming, as is the conservatory dining room, with its magnificent views over the bay. The only downside to this was the 'dreich' weather, but hey, what were we expecting in Scotland in February?
And as for the breakfast - well, it was superb! We particularly enjoyed the Scottish cooked breakfast and Andy's home-made bread. We'd like to ask him for the recipe, it was so delicious!
Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, offering us tips for exploring the island and recommending where we should eat - we made full use of these recommendations and we'll definitely return to do a bit more exploring in better weather. We loved the fact that Joan and Andy are passionate about the island - Bute couldn't have better ambassadors!
Thank you, Joan and Andy, for making our first visit to your lovely island so enjoyable.

“Great B&B, lovely touches, really friendly”
Reviewed 1 January 2011 for a stay in December 2010

We stayed here for two nights and would definitely go back here. Munro's is an absolutely lovely B&B.

The owners were very friendly, and full of top tips about what to see on the island.

We had a huge room (no 6), with a wet room, bay window with comfy chairs, hairdryer, TV and fluffy towels.

We made good use of the residents lounge with its wood burning stove, comfy sofas, loads of books, wifi and (best of all) a decanter of sherry.

There were fantastic breakfasts - big fry up or cereal/fruit/yogurt and home made bread. Served in the conservatory with great views over the bay - and binoculars to watch the ferry coming in.

It was very child friendly too - we had our 9-year-old with us and they were really welcoming to him.

All in all, pretty great.
