“Lovely B&B with friendly hospitable hosts”
Reviewed 26 March 2012 for a stay in March 2012

Stayed one night at this lovely B&B, and although it was very brief it was also very enjoyable.
Owners are very friendly and welcoming and the cooked breakfast (taken in an east facing conservatory with amazing views over the rooftops to the sea) was absolutely delicious. My egg had the most orange yolk I've ever seen, so I'm guessing it came from some happy, free roaming local hen.
Three beautiful big black labradors and a log burning stove complete the heaven. We were in room 1, which has no view except the car park, but is scrupulously clean, nicely furnished quiet and comfortable with a perfectly decent en suite shower and wc.
There's a pretty little garden with a sea facing deck, a fish pond, and enough off street parking for all the guests.
Good position just north of the town. In short a lovely pace with charming owners and highly recommended.

Hi,

Thanks for the wonderful review. The egg was indeed a local free range chicken - she roams our garden with her 2 pals and they give us about 3 eggs a day at the moment.
Good to meet you. If you are ever back this way we'd love to offer you one of our sea view rooms. Larger and with added, erm.. sea views

Best,

Andy & Joan

“Fantastic hospitality and very enjoyable stay”
Reviewed 19 March 2012 for a stay in February 2012

Wonderful owners, very cozy main room, very good quality breakfast, nice guest room and lovely cat and dogs. Would recommend to anyone looking for a stay in Rothesay. The breakfast conservatory has breathtaking views which all guests are invited to share. Our room was a good standard for the price that we paid. My only recommendation to the owners is a hot tub on the decking out the front. That view plus hot tub and a glass of champagne would be unforgettable. The owners were truly lovely people and very sociable. If I was looking to return to Rothesay, I wouldn't hesitate to book Munros again.

“Lovely relaxing stay at Munro's”

Just back from a weekend break here and really enjoyed it. Room (2) was very comfortable with a small settee for watching television. Bedroom large and airy with a very very comfortable bed. Great views from the bay window. Bathroom had powerful shower and jacuzzi bath. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with probably the best poached egg I have had with a full english breakfast. From our point of view the location was slightly further out of town than I expected so we got taxi's there and back when eating out (£5 each way) but please dont let this put you off staying there because it really is very good. We booked it through a 5pm deal which made it absolutely fantastic value for money. Would not hesitate to recommend Munro's as a place to stay in Rothesay.

“Lovely B&B and wonderful hosts!”
Reviewed 3 March 2012 for a stay in February 2012

Be sure to stay at this B&B when visiting the Isle of Bute. Andy and Joan make you feel right at home and provide not only comfy accommodation with great views (we stayed in room 3 where we overlooked the sea) but also a delicious breakfast to start your Bute morning adventure. And - the B&B is pet friendly!

“Truely Welcoming !”
Reviewed 20 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

Had a great time here. Our hosts made us feel very at home. The room was fantastic with a huge bay window and seating area to relax and enjoy the open sea views. After a long day walking around Bute the roaring log fire (with a glass of wine - take your own) was very welcoming. Breakfast cooked by the owner Andy was awesome ! I would recommend the full Scottish. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.

“Best B & B ever”
Reviewed 14 February 2012 for a stay in January 2012

Warm welcome, lovely room, great breakfast and roaring fire in sitting room, what's not to love? We had a huge room on the ground floor. It was split into three distinct parts: the bay window where we sat in armchairs and admired the snow covered hills, the sitting area with couch and TV and the huge bed in the recessed area. The bathroom was very clean with a fantastic shower and there was no shortgage of fluffy white towels. Breakfast was served in the conservatory, fantastic views of the bay, there was plenty of choice and I liked the use of local products. ( Best black pudding I've ever tasted). The owners were very knowledgable about Bute and happy to make recommendations on were to eat or visit. We hope to return to Bute in the Summer to walk the West Island Way and, of course, stay at Munro's B & B.
