“A marvellous stay at Munro's”
Reviewed 3 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was our third stay at Munro's, and the experience was again excellent: Joan and Andy are very friendly, the cleanliness and standard of decor are high, and the breakfasts are delicious. This time (July 2012) we were there for the wedding of our elder son to a local girl in the Marble Chapel at the magnificent Mount Stuart House, and we had asked our hosts if we could use their house for our daughter-in-law-to-be to prepare herself and her five bridesmaids on the big day (whilst at the same time keeping her away from our son, the groom, who was also preparing himself at Munro's along with his two best men and ushers). Joan and Andy readily agreed, and we had booked all six rooms for three nights, so we had the house to ourselves. Joan and Andy also provided a buffet lunch for 22 people to stave of the hunger pangs until we sat down to eat at 7:30. Everything went smootlhy, apart from a few minor hiccups that were nothing to do with Munro's itself. And when we returned at 2am the following morning all the rooms had been tidied by Joan: you can imagine the scene of devastation we left it in when we departed for Mount Stuart. I could not recommend Munro's more highly if you are looking for a good B&B on the Isle of Bute. Magnificent views over the bay, too.

“Great stay as always”
Reviewed 10 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Another lovely stay and Munro's B&B (sadly just for one night this time). Always a warm welcome and the great breakfasts are a joy to eat. The rooms with en-suite are comfortable, clean and cozy - a home from home. Thanks Andy and Joan - see you another time :)

“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed 10 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Just back from a three day stay at Munros on Bute. The view from the room No 6 was amazing and a surprise as we were upgraded to it. Breakfasts were excellent and served in the comfortable conservatory again with great views. Andy and Joan were extremely friendly and helpful and we would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone intending to visit Bute.

“Friendly, and great poached eggs”
Reviewed 4 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Andy and Joan are exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts. The gave us a very relaxed welcome - there was no feeling that anyone was drumming the sideboard with their fingers at 1055am waiting for us to check out on the dot. There's a sitting room for guests piled high with books and with a woodburning stove (alas that it was necessary in June). Rooms are spacious. Breakfast's in a conservatory with views out to the firth. Andy's poached eggs are superb, and if you're lucky (ie, if the hens have laid where A and J can find them) you'll be eating a home-raised one. We'd come again without hesitation.

“Best on Bute”
Reviewed 3 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Back for the second time to Munro's in Rothesay. Me and the doctor with Hannah (aged 6) could not have been better looked after. It's the view, the rooms, the welcome and the easy hospitality that did it for us. Anything can be achieved on a good breakfast and Andy and Joan set up the day nicely.
Stay here, it's dead good.

“Another great weekend”
Reviewed 2 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Another fabulous weekend at Munro's on Bute. A warm welcome for us, our kids and our friends from Andy and Joan, two great rooms ( we messed them around by asking for an extra night at short notice), space and plates etc provided for us to eat our takeaway when we arrived and couldn't be bothered to find a restaurant, fabulous breakfasts, coffee on the terrace between the rain showers watching the boats on the sea and the weather closing in. We've been going to Munro's regularly for several years now - it's a B&B that thinks it's a boutique hotel when it comes to facilities, and is like visiting old friends when it comes to relaxing by the woodburner or on the terrace. Brilliant - best on Bute by a long way in our opinion.

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed 25 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed with our 20 month old daughter and had a great time. Andy and Joan were so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. They heated our daughters milk when ever we needed it and even heated her evening meal. Thank you. They even supplied toys for her to play with. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon. Munro's is a beautfiul B&B and couldn't be any better.
