“Welcoming and Comfortable!”
Reviewed 6 August 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We visited Munro's quite a few months ago - a weekend in mid-March, on one of those off-peak season voucher deals (you know the kind).

Having done voucher deals before, we expected to be treated well, but *only* well. Happily, Andy and Joan (and their daughters) were made us feel like we were the most special guests they had ever hosted! They are genuinely lovely people and are very generous with their time, care and attention. The other guests felt the same, so they must be doing something right!

Their rooms were immaculate, every need was catered for (they saw that we had brought wine so they offered glasses; it was still early spring so they offered extra blankets and an eco-heater without prompting - just in case!). The dining and lounge areas are lovely (incredible views in the breakfast lounge), but the owners have their own space too, so we never got that feeling we were 'intruding' that you get at some smaller B&Bs - it felt more like a small hotel, and very relaxing for it!

The views from the property were stunning, and the rooms immaculate. The Home-cooked breakfast was delicious and filling - our hosts knew how to cook very well. On that note, they can really bake as well, so I'd wholeheartedly recommend doing the 'Bread School' course while you are there! A few hours of great, informative fun, and we learned skills we are still using six months on!

They are located just on the outskirts of Rothesay - it's a tiny drive, a wee cycle, and a leisurely, coastal stroll away from town!

We'll be back again one day!

We have just returned from spending a couple of nights at munro's in Rothesay, really welcoming place to stay with outstanding views over the bay in Rothesay, breakfast was first class with fresh fruit salad And freshly made bread. Will definitely be back. Great to get first class accommodation that let you bring your dog.

“Why would you stay anywhere else on Rothesay?”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed with Andy and Joan this May. The house is everything you want from a B&B with good rooms, a relaxing lounge with a fire and a conservatory with an amazing view. Breakfast even has home made bread! A great start to the day. Andy and Joan really make you feel welcome and part of the family. Great hosts and highly recommended.

My sister and I spent 3 nts at this lovely house and received a very warm welcome.

“They made our trip!”
Reviewed 24 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

From the moment we pulled into the drive and saw the decking, lovely wicker chairs, and beautiful high ceiling porch we knew we would have a lovely time. Even though we hadn't specified our time of arrival and turned up unannounced 3 hours early Andy was incredibly welcoming, friendly and made us totally at home. We became part of the family over the four days we spent here with the lovely 3 black labradors, Winston the pussy cat, delicious veggie breakfast and wonderful hospitality. The rooms were clean, spacious and very good value for money.
I would endeavour to keep in touch with Andy and Jo as they really made our trip something extra special and definitely would plan a trip back in the future.

“Bute's Best B&B”
Reviewed 18 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Munro's has so much to offer - stunning views across the Firth of Clyde, comfortable and stylish rooms and delicious cooked breakfasts with home made bread. Our hosts Andy and Joan made us most welcome and are an important part of the delightful ambience of Munro's. It is easy to access all parts of the island from Munro's and it would be a pleasure to go back for another visit.

Absolutely first class, peaceful location, accommodation, food and service and not too far from the centre of town with stunning views over the estuary. The friendliest hosts you could ever wish for....and homemade bread too!! If you're thinking of travelling to the Isle of Bute this is where you should stay....no question!
