I had an evening meal at the hotel recently, and was very pleased with the overall service, menu, and surroundings. The restaurant was very quiet, so the service was great ! The food was excellent, along with the glass of wine. I would recommend this location to any visitor to Rothesay.

My cousin & I stayed here during the Bute Jazz Festival and what a find. Bedrooms , although up one or two flights of stairs, were so well appointed and the bathrooms were vast. Everything so tidy and clean and the breakfast down in dinning room was super with lots of choice.
We chose to have dinner down in Ghillies Bistro and enjoyed every mouthful! Some of the Jazz events were held in the Hotel but no noise was heard in the bedrooms.
We certainly will go back there.

Room Tip: Tthird floor room 4 had a sea view and was super. The only grouse was that, as there was no lift...

Stayed for 3 nights in May. Was pleasantly surprised and delighted by this hotel. I had a very comfortable and spacious single room on the 3rd floor which was very quiet and peaceful. The daily exercise of climbing the stairs provided a good appetite for breakfast which was superb. The staff serving were so pleasant, helpful and efficient. I didn't eat in the main restaurant but found the bar downstairs to be very good. My cousins who live on Bute were very impressed by the quality of food and will be returning - as will I!

Stayed here for 2 nights & couldn't fault. We had a lovely sea view room on top floor so unaware of any noise from street level if there was any. You can even park right outside at no cost. Comfortable room, friendly staff & filling breakfast. There are no lifts so if any disability you may need to look elsewhere but the convenience of all local amenities was perfect.
Make sure you don't miss Mount Stuart, 10 mins max outside Rothesay.

Room Tip: Definite sea view 3rd floor if you don't mind the steps. It's worth it!

I attended the Bute Jazz Festival again this year and stayed once again at the lovely Victoria Hotel. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for the guests and the owner of the hotel took time to go around asking guests if everything was alright. The food was excellent and the rooms incredibly clean. I enjoyed it so much that as usual I have forward booked to stay at the Victoria again next year when I go to the 2015 Bute Jazz Festival.

Room Tip: I always book a room with the marvelous sea views.

If you can manage to climb 60 stairs, this is a lovely place to stay right on the water. Friendly staff, clean room and convenient to town. Street is a bit noisy, so be sure to request a non-seaside room if you are a light sleeper.

I visited the hotel on business between 14 to the 17th of April,I have to say I am a hotels worst nightmare when on business I start early and finish late. Absolutely none of this was a problem for the staff at the Victoria they accommodated my every wish I was allowed to pre order my evening meal and it was ready and waiting for me when I finished after nine with a smile and how was your day.the room was immaculately clean the bed very comfortable the washing facilities exceptionally clean and modern.but this hotels jewel in the crown is the breakfast waitress she would not be out of place working in the ritz in London she knows what you want before you do.is absolutely unflappable you get the impression they could tell you the world is going to end in three minutes she would smile and say can I get you more toast or freshen your tea and do it before you realised she really is world class so if you go to this hotel for anything make sure you have breakfast and Ella is serving you should visit just for this.
