Went with Shearings 9th-13th December. Everything was first class from the time we arrived until we left. The staff were efficient and friendly and did their best to look after everyone. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the entertainment was first class.
It is obvious that there has been a considerable amount of refurbishment been carried out recently and the work done has been to a high standard. Yes, it is a little frayed round the edges in places since there is still work to do but I didn't see anything that detracted from the enjoyment.
Gary had the entertainment organised so that there was something for everyone and this was a credit to him. It was obvious that he really enjoyed his job..
The only other thing that I will say about the hotel was that on occasions the plumbing made some very weird and wonderful noises

Thank you your posting and a lovely one at that. We have a great bunch of staff at the hotel and they always do their best to make sure that everyone enjoys their stay with us. Gary our host does as you say enjoy his Job and puts his heart and soul into it. Nice to see you appreciate the refrubishment that we have done as always it is ongoing. Many thanks again for your posting.

This is our 3rd visit to the wonderful Glenburn, yet again our rooms were spotless, lovely fresh linen and towels. The service in the dining room was again 1st class, special thanks to Gabrielle for her kindness to our children she really goes that extra mile! Food was lovely especially the gala dinner. Great value for money and we will be sure to return next year.

My husband and I stayed at the Glenburn on a 5day Shearings break in November. The hotel is massive and just a short 5-10 min walk into Rothesay. We found the quiet downstairs lounges chilly, unless you were sitting next to a radiator, but they are so large,it must be very difficult to keep them warm in the winter. The upstairs entertainment lounge was lovely and the entertaiment was excellent-I think it's the best we have had in any Shearings hotel. All the staff we came into contact with, were very pleasant and helpful. Our room, although a bit of a hike from the lounges and restaurant, was large, clean and comfortable, with three windows, giving a glimpse of the bay. The staff in the restaurant were very efficient and I thought the choice and quality of the food was excellent. My husband left the charger for his tablet behind in the room when we left and within a couple of days of enquiring if it had been found,it was delivered by the postman so it's a big thank you for such a quick response.
