Owner description: A very well stocked garden together with a fine sunken Victorian Fernery and large stable's ruin. All located in the grounds of a fine baronial style house; house built around 1840, Fernery 1875. A distictly old fashioned and rather magical experience. Teas and coffees available according to weather. Open from 10am to 5pm 1st April to 30th October.

“A must for anyone who loves gardens.”
Reviewed 28 September 2011

The present owners of Ascog Hall have restored the fernery in a glasshouse to its original Victorian splendour and is a delight.
The sheltered garden covers 3 acres and is a gardener's visual and scented Heaven.
Open Easter to October 10 - 5.
Closed Monday and Tuesday (except Bank Holiday Mondays).

“Very special gardens and fernery...”
Reviewed 27 June 2011

We felt very very fortunate to be able to stay at Ascog Hall B and B. There are only two rooms available and they are lovely(the whole house is magical!)...comfy beds, lots of space and thoughtful touches put there by the wonderful owners. THEN in the morning we were treated to a walk around the lovely gardens and the spectacular Victorian Fernery. There is a thousand year old fern growing in it...well worth the trip to see the gardens and the Victorian Fernery is amazing too. The gardens are filled with colour and very special. It may be one of my all time favorite gardens to have experienced. I think what made it so special for me was because I could feel the love, the attention to detail and the hard work that has gone into making it unique in so many ways.
