It is a short walk to the mouth of the cave and once you enter the humidity goes up but the temperature is 56 degrees. The first bit was just okay but as you move father into the cave the WOW factor increases. They also have a non-denominational light show.

We went to see a group from the Bluegrass Underground and that was cancelled but since we was traveling anyway we stopped on the way to Oklahoma and were glad we did..

It was a great venue for a show. The seating set up is so-so. I recommend bringing your own chair and snacks.

Had a great time on this tour. We like caves -- touristy caves that one can walk upright -- and this is a very nice one.

Tour guide was excellent, personable, and knowledgeable. It's a well developed cave that's easy to walk... big wide paths, well lit, easy to navigate.

This cave is private property. There's a flag flying out front, and an unapologetically Christian light show midway. And concession stands, and restrooms, and underground bluegrass concerts. Caught myself humming "God bless America" a time or two. Good, clean, wholesome fun at its best.

Definitely a great time.

We just got back from our day trip to Cumberland Caverns. What a great place to visit! The cave was stunningly beautiful, the tour was great (the guide was very professional and entertaining!) Its a pretty long tour, so you really get your moneys worth! The facilities were very well kept up---didnt feel like a tourist trap like so many other attractions. The cave is in a very beautiful part of Tennessee--we really enjoyed the countryside and the scenic drive from Chattanooga!
On some other reviews, people have complained about the "faith based" light show. I dont understand this at all for a couple of reasons: Number 1, the light show , which consisted of beautiful lights in a side cavern, with a back ground of various audio clips of people reading the Bible and talking about creation (Johnny Cash, the Apollo astronauts etc.) ---it was very tastefully done and enjoyable to experience no matter what your religious background (its not like they were preaching at you or anything like that!) Number 2---before you climb into the cavern where the light show is, the guide explained what the light show consisted of, and gave every one the opportunity to skip it (there were several benches there--wouldn't have been a big deal to just sit there and enjoy the cave until the light show was done . (some people seem to look for things to be offended by------------personally I thought it was a nice addition to our cave tour---trip advisor reviews mention it alot---if you dont like it dont go on this tour!)
All in all, we loved this cave tour. Even in the middle of July, it wasn't crowded. Very nice! (and the cave fudge they sell in the gift store is world class---best I've ever had! We will definitely be returning in the future!

We were there on a Wednesday at opening. There was not a crowd & only 5 in our tour group. This made for extra time & a relaxed walking trip. NOT government owned & regulated & this is a GOOD thing. This makes for a more personal & relaxing experience & not the "Sterility" one comes to expect at "places of interest."
