“good value for money break”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We have just returned from The Claymore after a five day holiday and enjoyed our stay at this traditional Scottish hotel and we would recommend it to family and friends. The staff were very good and work really hard to ensure the guests are well catered for.

Room Tip: please take midge repellant when going!!!

Located on the banks of Loch Long, beautiful views. Although the hotel would benefit from a little refurbishment our stay was enjoyable. Food was average, service very good, entertainment good. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We travelled with National Holidays and for the price we paid overall it was good value. Rooms were tired but spacious and clean.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views over the Loch.

Dear Shaun M,
All the information regarding your all inclusive stay is explained to you before you book. This is made clear on all information about your stay and is also available on the website and in the current brochure.
You knew you received 4 drinks per day. Was this a surprise to you when you got to the hotel?

Many, many guests book and pay for scenic view rooms and have no complaints but that is all you are paying extra for. Some of our rooms have internal views of courtyards and some look out to the side and rear. Only 17 rooms have the stunning front views on to Loch Long.
I can only apologise if you felt that the view was not worthy of your expectations

I am not going to even comment on your remarks about the food.
Thank you for your comments Shaun.
Regards,
Gary Watson.

visited the hotel as part of a all inclusive break with national holidays from 26th to 30th may 2014. although the hotel is a little dated the staff there more than made up for it. Very welcoming and friendly. brilliant location. Enjoyed the whole trip and shall be returning to the hotel on another short break at some time in the future. Oh. and compliments to the chefs :)

Room Tip: if travelling with national express, upgrade to a scenic/view room. well worth the extra!!
