Just returned from a 4 day all inclusive with National Holidays. The Claymore Hotel is possibly the worst ever place I have ever stopped. The outward appearance is very deceptive. Excellent location with stunning views but let down by the poor room quality. I cannot comment on all the quality of the rooms but I can on room 202 and 415. If you get room 202 and wont an early night then dont expect to get to sleep until after the entertainment has finished becuase the room is only a corridor away from the concert/ballroom. The cleanliness is extremely poor and the rooms are in need of an urgent refurbishment. If you are thinking of going then go with an open mind and dont expect a good standard of cleanliness....the waitress and bar staff are fantastic, polite, helpful and very obliging. Most rooms do not have showers just baths...remember to ask on arrival for a shower attachment as they go quick once people realise they are available and there isnt enough to accomodate every room without a shower. Right tips on the food "Breakfast"- this is plated not buffet and if you are a big eater and enjoy a breakfast then unless you ask on a full english breakfast you only get x1 small bacon rashers, x1 small sausage, one small fried egg, beans and a tomato. If you ask your waiter/waitress for extra sausage and bacon they will get you a bigger breakfast....you can have as much toast as you wont.......the cereal and fruit juice is laid out to help yourself. "Evening Meal"- its a three course option with 3 options and a chefs special which was something chicken everyday. The soup is warmed through but not that hot......the veggies are sparce so please ask for extra if you wont to make your portion size up otherwise you will be hungry....most of the food is luke warm and not very appetibal. The food is basic but headible on most days. Make sure you eat well during the day especially if the chef is having a bad hair day as he was during our stay..the staffs words not mine. The free bar gets busy @ 7:30pm for folks to get there first initial free drinks so expect to queue but the staff do work hard to get you served quickly and as the night goes on there is still a queue but not as bad as the first initial visit........the entertainment room is very cold so wear something warm to start with @ the beggining of the night until it warms up. Some of the corridors have a foisty and damp smell. Before you make up your own opinion on the reviews remember that each individual perosn has a different view on standards but dont go expecting a lovely room and the RITZ cause you'll be very dissappointed. It is not the National Holiday Drivers fault and if you get a good driver then your stay will be made much better. If you are travelling from the West Yorkshire area and you get Andy then your holiday will be fantastic as he makes it as good as possibly can. I wouldnt return again to this hotel but would return to the area again. Remember "CLEANLINESS" is very, very poor. All in all I do not recommend this tour/hotel if you have high living standards....typical working mens club environment......POOR, POOR, POOR. PS watch out for the resident cats one ginger and one black they are very friendly and greet you every morning and on your return from your tours.

i looked at reviews and some gave 10 some gave 1.we had three nights there 23rd,24th and 25th,we did not rate the food it was just awful, the room was dated and there use to be fitted wardrobes, the surround was there and in the middle a small stand alone wardrobe.no shower we borrowed a shower connection from reception, one wall light was out the other was faulty (it was flashing and a tap cured this for a while) which was reported and never fixed, one corridor had a smell all the time and the entertainment was rubbish so was it value for money?....of course not silly,do not go there!

After reading several bad reviews we went there expecting it to be poor but it was quite the opposite.
Hotel staff were very friendly. Choice of meals was very good and quality excellent. Service was extremely quick. Bedroom was basic but clean and we had a shower although other people in our party had a bath so would suggest putting your preference when booking. Entertainment on the Thursday was Jay Jackson and he was brilliant. Free bar queue was obviously long at start but soon went down as bar staff worked their socks off. We will be looking to go again next year particularly if Jay Jackson is on again.

we found our stay here was very enjoyable, ok so the rooms where a bit dated but comfortable. the meals and the service were excellent especially our waitress nothing was to much bother for her. Shame about the bath very narrow and uncomfortable but clean.Leo our coach driver was excellent he was a mind of information, making the excursions very interesting.
