1. The Guest house is in a perfect spot.Very nice views and soothing surroundings. Parking is easy.
2. Breakfast is very nice. Fresh fruit and all one can wish for. The conservatory just is the cream on the cake.
3. Rooms, are very nice. Clean and comfortable.Warm and just what is needed.
4. Staff...well, they have a bright future as they are prepared go not just go that extra mile...they go even two or three extra miles! We felt just At Home from the very first moment we arrived.

I wish more places could be like this!:-))

My friend and I stayed at the Lochside Guest House recently for a couple of nights and we were delighted to discover a warmly welcoming place, Meg greeted us at reception which is right inside the front door, she made us feel totally at home and insisted on helping with our luggage when she showed us to our twin room, there is a lower floor and that is where the breakfast room is overlooking Loch Long, breakfast was delicious and plentiful and cooked by Will who is a good chef and does not believe in skimping on the food. Before having the cooked breakfast folk can help themselves to nice cold starters.
Our room was light, fresh and clean with very comfortable beds.
We went to the bistro bar Ben Arthur’s Bothy for dinner at Meg's recommendation and we were not disappointed, dining there on both evenings of our stay. It’s a vibrant, friendly place to eat and service is good with the food being way above the quality of your average bar fare, as it was nice weather folk were eating at tables on the decking area next to the loch, I cannot think of a more pleasant setting for dinner.
Having been made so welcome by everyone we have no qualms in recommending it and hope to return early next year.

Room Tip: Back rooms have views of the loch

This place is absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and were blown away by the amazing views of Loch Long, the hospitality of the staff and the breakfasts. The decking at the rear backs onto the loch and is a lovely place to sit with a drink or food from the pub next door. If you're looking for somewhere to stay near Loch Lomond then stay here! You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I have stayed at numerous guest houses and hotels across Scotland and the north of England over the years and The Lochside has gone straight to the top of our list of preferred places to spend a weekend as we think we have found the best yet! That’s why we have booked up for our September break. Arrochar is a really pretty and popular place to stay and local people are very nice to visitors.
From our friendly welcome by Meg at the beautiful guest house to excellent dinners in their Ben Arthur’s Bothy we could ask for nothing more. It’s clear that Meg has her guests’ comfort and enjoyment uppermost in her mind, she is interested in people and we just felt she was happy we were there, and we are sure all the other guest felt the same.
The guest house is furnished and decorated impeccably throughout and spotlessly clean.
Our room was on the ground floor at street level with one of our windows having a view of the pretty little church opposite, and it was very comfortable with a super shower and toiletries and like everywhere else was fresh and clean.
Breakfast is one floor down which brings it level with the loch, some of the tables for breakfast are in the conservatory with spectacular views of Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps, get down to breakfast early to bag a table there.. There are a number of fantastic decking areas where you can take your drink or have a meal served to you from their Ben Arthur’s Bothy, we can thoroughly recommend the terrific food there.
Breakfast was cooked by Will, he’s a great guy and a very accomplished chef so guests are not disappointed, be warned the servings are VERY generous!!. A chilled cabinet holds an array of bowls of different fresh soft fruits and jugs of various fruit juices plus bottled water, there are also enormous croissants and plenty of yogurts to choose from to start off breakfast…..so if you stay there and can manage a cooked breakfast after all that you will certainly enjoy it.
I think we arrived as guests but left as friends to Meg, Gordon, Will and everyone else.

Room Tip: A loch view is recommended but not important

Highly recommend!! The staff friendly, breakfast superb and room clean and updated. With a view of the Loch outside r window, it was idyllic (booked the family room). We were a bit concerned having looked at the photos and not sure if it would match, but it was just as the other reviews stated. Would be back here again. Location was great! Eat at Village inn down the road, ribs were outstanding!
