“Lovely Meal with Family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

The staff were friendly and accommodating. With a party of six adults and a four year old they provided for our little one really well, giving her colouring pencils and pictures with a lollipop for completion. The service and food was lovely and even with a fussy member of the party asking for plain chicken they obliged. Would be back and may try the accommodation next time.

We recently stopped at the Inn for lunch. Let me say at the outset that the food was excellent, the staff were very attentive, and the location delightful.

We have recently moved to Garelochhead from England and are just starting to explore our new home.

We have retired after 27 years in Hospitality and appreciate how it is hard work to please everyone, that said I have a couple of observations.

We are animal people so it was nice to be greeted by the cat, it wasn't a pest just really friendly. Nice for kids.

I was surprised how quiet it was on a bright sunny day, with a huge empty well manicured garden and suspect it could well be the price of the food lunch times. There will be many visitors on a budget who perhaps can't afford £30/£40 for lunch. Perhaps a cheaper snack menu may be a way forward.

We always found with our motel that guests opted for a different type of meal at lunch to evening.

All in all we enjoyed our lunch and will certainly return. There is clearly a lot of competition in this little village, we could do with that.

Room Tip: Didn't stay

Thank you for your kind review. I am glad that the cat did not annoy you. We are not quite sure where it has came from. We will take on board your comments regarding a lighter menu for lunch times this is something we can look at introducing.

We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

Kind Regards

After a long trip from Northamptonshire with our elderly parents we arrived to an excellent Scottish welcome at Arrochar. The rooms were very clean and fresh and appeared to have recently been refurbished. The food was very good and reasonably priced, but special mention has to be made of the friendly attention extended by all of the staff who were a credit to the establishment and made our stay all the more memorable.

Room Tip: Ask for a Loch view

Great staff, good food. Nice size room, great blinds and curtain, so room was nice and dark. Wifi, not too bad, better downstairs in bar and restaurant. Helped with luggage (thanks James). Fitted us into restaurant for dinner, which is very busy with locals. Only issue, and a big one, was no pressure in shower. When I mentioned this in the morning, they had also had another guest say the same thing. They apologised, and would get it looked at. Overall very good, would stay again, and hopefully have a loch view.

Jackie (assistant manager) provided excellent customer service, warm and welcoming, showing an interest and we felt our custom was valued. The rest off the staff also were friendly and helpful.
Room 2 had a lovely view across the loch, comfortable bed with modern facilities. Maybe a wee bit overpriced but we would return.
Food at the restaurant was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed local and unfortunately dinner wasn't available. However, our host recommended the Village Inn. Although it was extremely busy, you would never have known that by the staff manner. They were so nice and pleasant although the were rushed off their feet. They made us feel as if we were the only important customers in there and listening to the chat they were having with other customers, they were the same with them. The food was delightful with a very extensive menu. The portion size was so generous, we had no room left for desert. We would consider travelling to it again just for dinner/lunch. Worth an hour and a half drive. The price was less than £30 for 2 steak pie and potatoes/chips and two veg. Washed down with a soft drink and a pint. Lovely.
