“Excellent experience”

Easy to find; well located for Balloch and Loch Lomond; very easy-going and friendly service; breakfast and options were excellent; room was clean, homely and comfortable; recommendations for local eateries were spot-on, and we got a 20% discount at one for staying at Sunnyside; although a top-notch experience for an away-from-home night or two.

This is a little gem, Frank the host was a mine of information and very friendly. The room was clean, tidy and had little personal touches. The breakfast was home cooked to order with amazing choices, great value and very convenient to the National Park and easy to find with off road parking. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stop.

As you head north out of Glasgow, pass the big, chain hotels and go for Sunnyside B&B. Frank made us feel very welcome from the moment he opened the door. He was especially considerate of the kids and our dog, all of whom, though well-traveled, could have felt odd about entering a stranger's home. There is no curfew, just a polite reminder about other guests. The en-suite family room slept four comfortably and did not feel cramped. Frank, an ex-submariner, knows how to maximize space, from the tucked away closets in the room to the VW vans available for rental; you will find a lot of comfort in this family home and some good advice about things to do in the area. With Loch Lomond and Glasgow very close by, Sunnyside B&B makes a good base or an ideal stop on your way north. With our kids' favorite cereal on-hand and a good selection for the adults, we all enjoyed a very nice breakfast in the morning (thanks, Lorraine!). It may be tempting to stop at one of the hotels, but for the price and great advice, you can't beat the warm welcome you will get at Sunnyside B&B. Oh, and be sure to check out the periscope in the reception area.

I and my wife and two sons stayed at Sunnyside B&B about two years ago, and I've been meaning to write a review ever since. We were spending two weeks in Scotland around Christmas time and budgeted three days in the vicinity of Loch Lomond. We have vacationed in Scotland three times now, and stayed at many B&Bs along the way all over Scotland. This one is among the best of them all. The building itself is cozy and decorated very tastefully with hints of Frank's naval past, something we loved. I've seen some reviewers complain about the hardness of the beds, but we found them to be very comfortable, and we slept just fine.

Most importantly, our hosts were quite simply the best. They were warm and welcoming and made us feel like the most important people in the Loch. The breakfasts we ate were wonderful; they met any request we had with a smile; and they gave us tips for our brief stay in the area. Sometimes when we have gone to B&Bs we got the feeling that the hosts were running more of a hotel than a B&B. Not these folks.

If we're ever in the Loch Lomond area again, we will not hesitate to stay at Sunnyside. It's a wonderful place to stay. I'm only sorry it took me two years to say it.

Sunnyside Bed and Breakfast is a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. Whilst the bathroom facilities were a little on the smaller side the room was very acceptable. The breakfast was excellent. Frank and Lorraine were very warm and super hosts - and for a lone traveller it was nice to be made to feel welcome. Would stay again.

Booked the B&B as a stopover from the Isle of Harris, we called the owner to say we would be later than 7pm which Frank assured us it wasn't a problem. We arrived to a really warm welcome and was shown to our room. We had a family room which was big enough for 4 of us as the children were 16 and 18 at the time. Everything was clean and comfortable and the shower room was adequate for our needs. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Breakfast was filling and there was enough choice for us all, Frank and Lorraine were very hospitable. For the quality of the accommodation the price was a bargain. Highly recommended.
