We are staying at the old smiddy cottage balloch scotland ,its a home from home ,comfy bed ,welcoming host and everything you need to enjoy your stay ,a great base for traveling around .would highlt recommend .

We stayed here for a week and couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The owners are friendly, the cottage is well stocked, clean, cosy and in a stunning location. Easy walking distance from several pubs, restaurants, the local co op and of course the Loch and Balloch Castle Country Pub. Lots of information on local places to visit and places to eat available in the cottage. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again. Thank you so much!

We had a very enjoyable stay in Balloch and were impressed by the cottage and it's facilities. It was clean, warm and each bedroom had it's own on suite. The weather was in the 20s, similar to that in Adelaide and the scenery was spectacular.
The chooks, dogs and ducks were classics and Fiona and David friendly and helpful.
Would recommend this cottage to anyone planning to stay near Loch Lomond

This delightful cottage is situated within walking distance from beautiful parkland and Loch Lomond. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean; cosy and tastefully decorated. There is everything you need and some things you may not have though you needed! Fiona, the owner is there to give you a warm welcome and check everything is ok. She has given a lot of consideration towards visitors and she certainly made us feel at home. There are shops and restaurants close by and buses and trains are very regular. I would love to go back sometime in the future.

cottage was very clean and tidy owners very friendly in good location for visiting Loch Lomond and surrounding area

My wife & I stayed for 5 days visiting the area to see the locality and meet up with our son who was based nearby. He was able to stay with us for 3 nights. The Old Smiddy was excellent, very comfortable and well equipped. Its location was ideal for walking into the centre of Balloch and the areas around the foot of the Loch and we found plenty of walks within easy distance. Fiona and David were very friendly and helpful hosts and the eggs from their chickens were delicious. We thoroughly recommend The Old Smiddy as a base to stay when in this area.
