“Lovely stay, enjoyed by all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

We had the pleasure of being at the Commonwealth Games, camping in Glasgow, we then spent 4 days at Loch Lomond Waterfront. We enjoyed the comfort of the lodges, the quiet surroundings, and lovely setting. We took advantage of the beach, it is a short stroll from the lodges, we had it pretty much to ourselves , our boisterous children had great fun and we even saw an otter close up. We also took advantage of the canoe safari organized by Wild by Nature, it was a challenge and enjoyed by all. We also went fishing and climbed Conic Hill. We did lots but also enjoyed the hot tub. The waterfront owners are very pleasant and have a very welcoming manner. I recommend highly.

Thank you very much for your review. We are pleased that you were able to take advantage of the our private beach and the canoe safari during your stay. We were excited to know that you had seen the otter as the Park Rangers have told us they are there but we have not managed to see them yet.

Spacious living room, kitchen equipped with basically everything but the food (including carton of milk, full coffee, sugar and tea canisters and washing up liquid), free Wi-Fi , two bedrooms with a bathroom each and more than enough towels for our party of three.

Excellent views of the Loch and wildlife - there was a bird's nest underneath the balcony (could see the mother feeding her young), ducks would pay us a visit in the morning (as the guests next door were feeling them) and we even saw a young deer.

Not used to having a steam shower and the hot tub in previous accommodations so it would of been rude of us not to use them, making use of the hot tub between the rain and the steam shower during the rain,

We were only there for 3 nights and didn't spend much time in the Lodge or the surrounding area as we spent most of our time at the Commonwealth Games (Lodge was about 45mins - 1 hour from Glasgow). Would stay here again and take in the surrounding areas next time.

Big thank you to Suzanne for sending us public transport information and websites regarding getting to the Games before we arrived it was very helpful.

Room Tip: Lodge 5 had a great view of the Loch and don't forget to feed the ducks.

Thank you very much for your review of our diamond lodge. Pleased that you enjoyed the hot tub and steam cabin and that you had a great time at the Commonwealth games. Hope to see you again sometime so that you can explore this area of the National Park.

I visited Loch Lomond Waterfront for the 3rd time in July 2014. We stayed in one of the Diamond Lodges. I was accompanied by my mum and 2 friends. Having been 3 times, it never fails to take my breath away, the stunning views, the quiet atmosphere and how much it feels like home coming back. I feel myself relax the minute we pull into the car park. You receive such a warm welcome, from Flynn the owners dog as well. The lodge was absolutely fabulous with all the things you can need, including a sauna in the downstairs bathroom. We made use of the hot tub every day and you could spend hours sitting watching the Loch. We went down to the Loch on a wet day and dipped our feet in the Loch and got some fab pictures.

As always the bedrooms were well presented, love the extra's of the robes and you can't beat the relaxing atmosphere and views. We received some visits from Flynn when he was wandering the site and we left the lodge door open. For me this was a homely touch. He was particularly friendly and was always wagging his tail and happy to see us. We also liked to feed the ducks and took some duck food with us as we had known from before to expect them.

All in all, I love this venue and one of the party has already booked a return visit for next February. I am also going to be returning for next year. I would highly recommend the lodges to those who wish to relax and like to do it in luxury. I am totally sold on this venue and could return week on week.

Room Tip: Choose the front facing lodges.

Thank you very much for your review of our diamond lodge. Glad that Flynn behaves himself when he comes to visit thoughwe have made our garden more secure to deter his wanderings. I think he knows when duck feeding time is and likes to hoover up any excess bread. Look forward to meeting you again during your next visit.

We are just about to return here for our first wedding anniversary. We got married here last July. They were very helpful and opened the bar for our guests the night before. They asked if we had any drinks requests and stocked up on these.
We got married at luss church on the other side of the loch. We hired a boat from sweeny cruises to transport 80 guests and a speed boat for the bridal party.
When we returned from the ceremony we had our drinks reception down by the loch it was a beautiful day and because it's shallow atlot of guests cooled down by having a paddle. Only down side was goose poo.

The venue looks small but it's very spacious & well decorated with the 3 different rooms. We were allowed to do what we liked on decorating the rooms.

The food was lovely. We had the bronze package and even though it was the cheapest package the quality was still there. Guests commented how nice it was especially the tablet.
Because it was a hot day the room did get very hot but there is a patio area outside.

In the evening we had a BBQ which was served in the garden room , there was soooo much food & plenty of options my sister is a vegetarian and said she had a very good selection. It would of been nice if they had informed us it was being packed away.

Overall it was a beautiful location, with beautiful views, lodges were brilliant can't fault them & it was nice having guests on site.

Price was good especially when you compare it to some other locations/venues in loch lomond . We had a good selection to choose from and made up our package to suit us for example having cocktails & beer at our drinks reception instead of champagne.

So many guests have said it's the best wedding they have been to.

More communication needed with staff & myself as a few things got mixed up and on the day no one told us what was happening we made it up ourselves or asked waitresses. But it was a perfect day.

Can't wait to return next week

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

I visited Loch Lomond with friends in June and the weather was warm. The lodge provided everything we needed pretty much and all of us enjoyed the hot tub greatly. On the face of things we did not notice the minor negatives of the lodge because we were all guys having a good time and using the lodge as a base after our activities, having BBQ s outside and jumping in the hot tub. My memories will consist of having a great time the four days I was there due to the company our activities and the lodge not really being an issue and the bonus of a hot tub.

Having said that, If I had stayed here with my partner and paid a lot more for a lodge I would not have been totally happy. The kitchen is small clean and good and the open plan living/dining area is a great space but the carpet, dining table, curtains and TV area does not have the best fung shui. The location itself and view is peaceful and relaxing but the inside of the lodge could be better especially for a 5 star.

Another thing which was not normal for a 5 star, being told that the first batch of loo roll was complimentary after we asked for more.
Our lodge was 'non pets' but other peoples pets seemed to be roaming free around the lodges and two dogs came to our patio area to the fright of my friend who has a fear of dogs.

Having experienced 5 star hotels in many countries, this does not come into that category, if advertised a four star I would rate this place 5*.

However all of us had a great time and the location was perfect as a canoe/safari company can pick you up at the nearby beach (small beach not for sunbathing) if you have booked an activity with them. The company was called 'Wildbynature'.

P.s you cannot use the hot tubs after 11pm, not a complaint, just good to know!

Room Tip: The chalets have an uninterrupted view of the Loch

Thank you very much for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed the services of our business associates.
Sorry your friend was startled by dogs. If one was an orange terrier then mea culpa! Dogs are not meant to roam the site but there is one bad culprit called Flynn. We do everything we can to keep him in our garden but he is a bit of an escape artist and thinks it his job to check out any other dogs. Your posting has been wagged in his face and he is now looking forlorn.

We are rated by Visit Scotland as 5* self catering and not as an hotel.

We were fortunate to be invited to a wedding here. Superb location on the shore in a lovely marquee. The food was excellent and the dancing afterward very entertaining. The only downside was of course the dreaded Midge which meant that we just had to stay inside enjoying ourselves! We have stayed in the lodges here on other occasions and can only comment on the excellence of the accommodation. Would recommend this setting for any wedding parties. Our thanks to our wonderful hosts Charles & Sue, ( From the Gillespie Clan)

I have just returned from a 3 night stay, we had a wonderful time. The lodge was perfect and great for small children, outdoor space for them to run about and quiet at nights. The lodge was very clean and well presented.

We had the Chef to the lodge twice during our stay and I can not recommend this highly enough, Robin was fantastic. This made our stay with two small kids a more relaxed experience, whilst Robin was cooking we were able to put the kids to bed then come down and enjoy a fantastic meal.

The local pub/ restaurant was the The Oak Tree Inn is great for lunch or dinner and less than a 5 min walk form the lodge. Once again the food was very good. There is a small play area, however it is more suited to children over 4/5yrs. There are plenty of walks but for any other activities for small children you need to drive to them. p.s Avoid the Sealife centre at Loch Lomond shores as it is poor and over priced.

This is a great escape with family or friends...watch out we may be back!
