The small road leading to the hotel runs along a lake, small village and woods.
The hotel is secluded among beautiful scenery. The owner and staff are most wellcoming and the room we got was large and comfortable.
The food is amazing both in breakfast and dinner. The menu has a wide choice of local products prepared skillfully.
We watched the world cup final on a large screen in the barn with an open fireplace and free drinks.
I highly recommend Monachyle Mhor to people who love nature and want to relax in this part of the world.

Cannot write highly enough of this place. Ok its a bit out of the way but its worth the effort to get there. The drive up the glen with the hills reflected on the loch water was just a taster to come.
This is a farmhouse converted into a fantastic hotel in a wonderful location. One of those places where you feel the strains of the world melt way.

I am not sure where it actually falls in star ratings but I would put it as a good 4 star.

The rooms decor in the courtyard rooms are a bit modern for a traditional person like me but my wife loved it and I certainly could not complain about the standard of the facilities, including a steam room!!. We had a Queen size bed while our friends got a King size and I think that a king in our room would have been better but it was very comfortable

The dinner was very good, I am not really a foodie but some of our party were and they loved it all. But what I had was well prepared and well presented, just the right quantities. The wine list was modest in size but thats no bad thing but what was there was good and resaonably priced.

The staff were first class, nothing was too much trouble and always a with a smile.

Some people have commented on the wifi and in the bedrooms it was not really available but was in the sitting room. Actually I was quite glad to get away from that anyway.

We were leaving quite early the next day and my only complaint was that breakfast started a bit late so were were not able to partake in a full breakfast but they did arrange a continental breakfast for us.

Would I go back, yes definately

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a king sized bed

We had two separate one night stays in the same week and both nights were flawless for service, comfort and food. A simply marvellous place to chill out. We are retired and can come back, and we are going to make this a regular stop-over. Wonderful.

Room Tip: ask for the Midnight suite - massive bed .... en suite with twin high back baths ....

My husband and I had only planned to spend one night at Monachyle Mhor, but we loved it so much we stayed for three! The rooms are gorgeous, and the general feeling of the hotel is very friendly and relaxed. Exactly what you want from a boutique hotel.

We came across MM after it featured on a restaurant programme, so were really looking forward to sampling the food. It didn’t disappoint. The evening menu was inventive, without being pretentious, and you taste how fresh the ingredients were. Breakfast was also a triumph.

Customer service wise, this place truly excels. I cannot praise the staff enough. Everyone was so attentive, friendly and well-mannered. A really good natured bunch.

The biggest attraction, however, is the location. It is truly breathtaking. We were lucky enough to be there during an unusually hot spell and after climbing up a nearby Ben, we ended up taking a dip in the loch! Something I hadn’t done since I was a kid.

Overall it was a wonderful short break which left us relaxed, refreshed and very much looking forward to our next visit.

As part of a short trip to Scotland we (my partner and myself) stayed at this hotel for two nights in July 2014. The location is perfect and suited us down to the ground - roaming hills and lochs right on the door step. This family run outfit has nailed it for location and are well on their way to serving up flawless Scottish fayre too. The hotel is perfectly situated for walking and taking in some Munro walking. We were fortunate in having some of the best summer weather whilst we were there and walked both days taking in the views at the top and returning late afternoon to enjoy a perfectly chilled local beer or two in the gardens.
The service here is welcoming and staff are very knowledgeable with regards to walks and surrounding points of interest worth a visit. The restaurant staff and bar staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and catered for our every need. The accommodation was delightful and felt quite luxurious and was definitely the treat to ourselves that we expected. We especially liked the deep bath and fluorescent lighting with lovely organic toiletries. It is definitely worth getting a room with a fire as it adds comfort after a long day in the hills.
The food served here is of a high standard as is the wine menu. The only thing that disappointed was the house made haggis - not quite spicey enough. Everything else was great and the brekkie was a favourite with us kicking off with the house made scones and marmalade. Definitely worth a visit if you're up for a treat and a get away from it all type of break. We will definitiely recommend this hotel to our friends.

Room Tip: Rooms on the courtyard with a fire (extra cost) very comfortable.

Just back from a fantastic overnight stay at this gorgeous hotel. What can I say? The location is absolutely stunning - just what you need to relax. Rooms are unbelievable - all you need to help you unwind. The food is out of this world with the best of local produce. All the staff were amazing however special thanks should go to Hattie, Lee and Georgie (hope I got the names correct). Will who popped up in the bar and during dinner is a font of Scottish knowledge and is able to converse with everyone about anything (Visit Scotland take note). All in all this is certainly one hotel that we will return to - longer stay next time. If you ever want to treat yourself then this is the place to go

Room Tip: Any room - they are all individual and perfect

We stayed 2 nights in June. The location is perfect for relaxation, peace and quiet and wonderful views. Walking in all directions straight from the hotel. The staff were relaxed and friendly but in a good, (well-trained and professional) way.
The rooms were good but expensive - but that is probably the location value.
Whilst the meals were good, they are a little mean in proportions - so maybe OK for those who take the sea-plane to come here for lunch, but not quite up to the larger appetites at dinner for those who have been wallking for hours!
Tip: if you are hungry, make sure you order plenty of side dishes! We realised this too late.
