“B & B that felt like home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

This is an excellent B & B which is very well run by Louise and Matt. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by the tea and home made biscuits and the advice on the best places to eat and to visit. The breakfasts were lovely, lots of good quality food and a good variety to suit everyone. The whole house has a homely yet modern feel about it and the bedroom and bathroom were simply decorated with everything that you could possible need. Good local places to eat were the Drovers and Bridge of Orchy (don't bother with the local pub). Ideally placed for good walking and local paths close by too for short dog walks. This was a good find on Trip Adviser and would definitely recommend this B & B to anyone.

If you need somewhere to stay in this area don't look any further - this is the place. We arrived on motorcycles with wet clothing and were made to feel extremely welcome with refreshments. The bikes were parked securely and they even have a drying room. The bedrooms are very well presented with all you expect from a hotel and some nice extra touches like fruit teas and biscuits that made it really homely. The bed was really comfortable with good quality bedding and towels and a free-view flat screen TV. The en suite was a reasonable size, well presented and had a power shower and nice toiletries. Lovely residents lounge and breakfast room downstairs which is in keeping with the cottage. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of well cooked and presented food - loved the porridge with whisky!
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed for one night on 04--5-14 after a very wet trip from the Isle of Skye on two motorcycles. We were made very welcome with tea coffee and biscuits. Rooms were excellent lovely and clean and the bathrooms were super. Breakfast was again great. All in all a very very nice place to stay.

I have to say that I've know Louise since she was knee high to a grasshopper.....she was delightfully hospitable even at age 5 when I found my slippers arranged by my bed in the morning just at the right place to step into!

We stayed with Louise and Matt when Dunfraoich House first opened, as "proper guests", and our stay was the perfect mixture of top notch hospitality combined with the friendliest welcome and a laid-back atmosphere. I loved all the little touches, particularly the gorgeous smellies provided in the bathroom...and a little wooden box in the bedroom with the makings of all kinds of hot drinks. Everything is so well thought out for your comfort - the bedrooms are calm and comfortable and there is a very nice guest dining/sitting room overlooking the river. Louise and Matt are the kind of people who will make you feel instantly " at home". Fantastic!

Hi Felicity,
Thank you so much for the lovely review! We love being able to treat our friends and family as "proper guests" after their much appreciated help in the long renovation project! We were so pleased that you enjoyed all the little touches, we really just want people to feel a wee bit spoilt in their "home from home" and enjoy lovely organic toiletries, big fluffy towels and comfortable beds! We hope to have the pleasure of your company again soon!
Best wishes, Louise and Matt

I would highly recommend Dunfraoich house to anyone looking for a cracking wee cottage with excellent views, very comfy beds (was like sleeping on a cloud!) delicious breakfast and a warm and friendly welcome.

Very accessible with a train station 5 minutes away. The cottage was spotless, the ensuite room was very well laid out, the towels and toiletries provided where top notch. Tea coffee herbal tea and yummy biscuits where provided along with a TV with freeview. At check in we where asked about our dietary requirements so appropriate food could be served. The breakfast did not disappoint!

All in all great value fro moneyand i will be staying here again and recommending to family and friends.

This place is owned and run by a delightful young couple and they do a great job of it. The house is pretty typical of what B&Bs used to be before everything got all "upscale" and overly expensive.
The rooms are small but comfortable and spotless. The "full Scottish breakfast" is delicious and enough to strain a seam or two.
I would highly recommend Dunfraoich House to anyone interested in friendly people and unmatchable scenery.
