Everytime we visit Scotland, we always stop at this tearoom on our way north on the A82 road. The tearoom stands on the island platform of the Crianlarich railway station and provides great snacks in an unuusual setting. We especially enjoy their bacon rolls. The tearoom seves passers-by like us but is also well known to travellers on the several trains on the scenic West Highland Line. Some of the trains stop there for about 5 minutes before they split up into a section heading to Oban and one heading to Fort William and Mallaig. They join up in the south direction. Passengers have a few minutes to grab a snack and head back on the train. Try to time your visit so you are there a few minutes before the trains arrive, then you can take pictures and wait for the tearoom activities to subside before getting your own snack once the trains have left. Check the timetables (schedules) on the Scotrail website (www.scotrail.co.uk).
Everyone is friendly (staff, passengers, passers by) and it is great to watch the various activites. Go outside the tearoom to take photos of the marvellous scenery around.
Of course you could take the Scotrail train on this very scenic railway line and see unsurpassed scenery as you travel high in the mountains, alongside lochs and over the famous Glenfinnan viaduct which features in Harry Potter films.
Visit and enjoy - I have ecommended this tearoom to many fellow Canadians.
