While making our loop through the western Highlands, we didn't book a room and were dismayed to find our planned hotel was full-- they, however, recommended the Glenardrun and we were very pleasantly surprised. Phil and Wendy were very gracious hosts, greeted us warmly, and got us set up in their family room. They have a lot of hillwalker visitors and long-distance bicyclists, so we were probably a bit different than some of their guests!

The rooms (actually a double and a single, sharing a bathroom) were clean, spacious, and comfortable. We were pretty tired after a long day, so Phil and Wendy recommended a lovely pub just down the road for dinner (note: there are sidewalks the whole way, but a stretch of no street lights, so carry a flashlight).
After a great night's sleep, we woke to a wonderful breakfast, some great advise on places to see as we headed south.
Great value, wonderful hosts

Room Tip: Try out the Ben More pub down the street for dinner-- not a fancy place, but great food!

We stayed three nights and it was perfect for our railway journeys out to Mallaig on the West Highland Line (including the Jacobite Steam Train) and also to Oban. We were there in October but at other times of the year it would be a perfect cetre for a walking holiday. The Breakfast was excellent, the room comfortable , the location was quiet and the overall hospitality was first rate. Good fast internet.

Room Tip: Back of the room for the quiet side and also the best wifi reception!1

I found the room really nice and clean as well as the service and the atmosphere, the couple owning the place is really nice and helpful. I needed ice for my knee and she got me a very helpful bag full of ice.

Nice out of the way stay! Good pub next door with best Haggis, It was also friends birthday so they helped make birthday special. Also gave good advise as to where to go to next - Oban - definitely worth a visit if you are a seafood fan!!

Room Tip: Nice, clean, friendly! Liked tartan carpet - just what a kiwi would expect in Scotland!!
