Stayed for 3 days with a group of mates for some hillwalking. Weather was poor but we managed to explore the beautiful surrounding areas.
The Ghillies was perfect for our large group of 8. Set in a private spot at the top of the complex it has fantastic views accross the valley as far as the eye can see. Inside the lodge is well proportioned, spacious and has all the catering equipment you need as it is likely you will be eating in more than once. There is a Reception lodge that is well stocked with games/DVD's, maps, attraction information and other essential items like drinks.
A very well thought out set up that caters for all you could wish for. We will be back.

Beautiful setting. Very spacious and well equipped lodge including a jacuzzi and sauna. (But no coffee machine; take your own).
If you want to visit a pub or restaurant, one of you will need to be the designated driver.

Otherwise there really isn't anything to fault.

After staying in Buzzard in October we chose Pinemarten for our November holiday.
Perfect stay, being keen photographers we had perfect weather. Bright skies, frost covered munroes and mirror like lakes.
A perfect self catering lodge in a sea of tranquility, Loved it again and are already looking forward to our next stay

This was a fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights for valentines day/ my birthday. We stayed in the fisher lodge which was amazing. The lodge was well equipped with everything we needed for our two night stay and extremely comfortable.

Cameron was a fantastic host and made sure he did everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Made us feel very welcome.

Coming from the south side of Glasgow it is a perfect distance away and an enjoyable drive there and back.

The weather was as expected for this time of year with snow and cold temperatures which limited our daily activities but we managed to get out and go for nice walks and enjoy the scenery.

Having looked at the other lodges, it looks like a great place for families and groups of people to go for a nice break.

I would highly recommend Portnellan to everyone!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay in Stob Binnein at Portnellan over new year 2013/14.

The location is excellent: it's pretty accessible, at just over an hour's drive from Glasgow (important for me, as I ended up acting as airport shuttle for a big group...), but sufficiently remote that you feel like you have space to get away from it all. The scenery is spectacular: although we visited in mid-winter, we still managed to get in some excellent low level walking, there's there's great access to the hills for some more serious expeditions when the weather is better.

The cottage itself was perfect: furnished to a decently high standard, with plenty of space & pretty much all the facilities we needed. Cameron was a welcoming host, and more than happy to give us some pointers for things to do in the local area. We particularly enjoyed the Hogmany party in the Big Shed, complete with bonfire & fireworks -- many thanks for organising this! -- although I'm afraid we wimped out of the 'loony dook' the next day.

All in all, we had a fantastic time, and I hope we'll be back.

We stayed at Portnellan's Stob Binnein lodge for a few days over the New Year festivities with friends and had a wonderful time. The location of the estate comes nothing short of postcard pictures of the Scottish highlands with a view of Loch Dochart from the living room and bedrooms and snow-covered Ben More from the dining area. Perfect spot to start explorations of the mountains by foot or bike, go running in amazing nature, or explore Scottish culture in the village pubs and distilleries of the area.

The lodge was spotlessly clean with comfy beds and plenty of space for all of us to hang out, even on rainy days. There are Wii-games, movies and boardgames available. Cameron went out of his way to accommodate us, advising running routes and - of course - organising a fantastic Hogmanay celebration including Scottish dances, bonfire and bagpipes at midnight. Thank you for this amazing experience!

Good to know / points of improvement:
- The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary items, except that is has a Senseo coffee machine (good thing to ask before you set out for your groceries).
- The WiFi-procedure seems outdated and the connection was more off than on for our lodge. While having no WiFi eventually helped our relaxation, it did lead to occasional panic attacks in the beginning. :)

I love Scotland and have stayed all over the country in various accomodation however, Stalker chalet and the warm welcome we received was the best yet, simply outstanding.

Cameron and Elaine are the most hospitable hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The chalet was exactly as advertised, very well run with first class amenities and very warm and cosy.

By the end of our new years break, we had no desire to leave! I shall certainly miss the stream and mountains outside my chalet.

We shall definitely be back!

Thank you again for a fabulous break!
