“What a wonderful holiday!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We have just returned from a very relaxing and extremely pleasant two weeks in the Montrose Lodge. Ingeborg and Jamie are perfect hosts and they offer a very high standard of accommodation. We were spoilt for choice as regards the places to visit, in and around Loch Lomond.
A very lovely experience!

We booked Ptarmigan Lodge for a weekend break, could not fault it. Clean, modern and very peaceful/tranquil. Lot's of space, lovely grounds for a stroll, hot tub was fantastic. Jamie was very helpful and we would certainly book again.

On a bit of a whim and after a rather hectic couple of weeks at work my partner and I decided to have a couple of days away. A quick search, a phone call, a text, a forty minute drive and we were at Dalnair Castle Lodge.

It was and had all we were looking for, if you can't relax here then maybe you just can't relax. Just outside the quiet village of Croftamie the lodge has three double bedrooms (one on suite), a reading room, a good kitchen, toilet and shower-room within the original building......along a small corridor and down a couple of steps is a huge living space comprising of a dining area, a sitting area and a TV lounge all centred round a wood-burning fire. Outside there was a barbecue, a hot-tub, garden furniture on a decked are overlooking a lovely garden with old trees and a rope swing.

Self-catering isn't for everyone and from previous reviews there are good places around to eat but other than one lunch in Rowardennan we did all the cooking ourselves. A weekend spent in luxury surroundings, reading, talking and listening to music interrupted with the occasional visit to the hot tub or turning food on the barbecue was just what we needed and we'll certainly be back.

All that and still only a 40 minute drive back into work on Monday morning, fabulous!!

This was my 3rd stay at Lomond Luxury Lodges and it will not be my last. So far I've stayed in the Inchmurran, Ptarmigan and Melrose lodges and they have all been fabulous. Really well appointed, very clean and the hot tub is just the cherry on the sticky bun!! Ingeborg is very welcoming, and super helpful. Nice little touches like luxury toiletries and a bottle of wine and chocs on arrival make the experience even more special. Drymen is a short drive away, lovely little village with a couple of nice hotels and a few lovely wee shops for a wander round. Supermarkets have delivered a shop here for us in the past with no problem, and the local Chinese knows the lodges by name so that saves cooking for a night (and the food was very good!)

I stayed here with my fiancé for a couple of nights and will definitely be returning this year! The photos don't give the interior justice; it's clean, modern and luxurious!

Only downside is the lodges are really close together & it's right on a main road HOWEVER this didn't affect our stay whatsoever, we are really private so thought it would be an issue but it was quiet and the owners left us to enjoy our stay. We loved the hot tub - it never got boring!

Thanks for an amazing stay!

Thank you! We had an amazing stay and our two children never wanted to leave. The hot tub was fantastic. Accommodation was very clean and tidy. Any problems were sorted out immediately. We will definitely recommend to others especially for families.

We had a short break here last week and it was great, the lodge was first class we got an upgrade as they were doing some work on the one we booked but was very very happy with it,my husband was happy with the hot tub but the weather was not to good so did not get full use of it. There are lots of nice places to eat round about which Jamie told us about, they were very helpfull with all things, the lodge has all you can think of and more it would be good for more people as the one we were in could sleep 9 and all things for the little members to.we hope to get back soon and hopefully better weather.A+G Hadden
