“Pristine accommodation and a friendly welcome”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Our first night's accommodation on walking the West Highland Way, and it set the bar pretty high,(which unfortunately many subsequent nights accommodation elsewhere did not come up to!) We received a warm, relaxed welcome at Kip in the Kirk - homemade scones is always a good way to start - our rooms and bathrooms were attractive and spotlessly clean. Having the kitchen and lounge to relax in was an added bonus and our hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Delicious breakfast (although the veggie in our party was a wee bit upset that the ham and cheese were on the same plate at breakfast time) Highly recommended.

Hi Alison

Thanks very much for your review, we really try hard to keep our B&B clean and presentable and it's great to have such feedback.

So sorry that we upset your veggie friend, it's not like us, we go out of our way to keep ham away from cheese when we have veggie guests, I'm not sure what went wrong on this occasion, but thanks again for letting us know.

Absolutely superb accommodation just a few hundred metres from the WestHighlandWay. Clean, warm, comfortable, friendly and very helpful - Frances went out of her way to find me accommodation further along the trail. Highly recommended!

Stayed with a group of friends for Lee's birthday & it was a lovely place to stay. The hosts are a lovely couple too...very friendly & welcoming. The rooms were clean & warm. Lots of hot water for the showers & a nice layout for the kitchen & living room. Entertaining usage of the drawers for mugs & cutlery which you'll enjoy working out too.

We (4 mid-20's females) stayed here after being recommended it by the staff at the Drymen Inn after we were unable to stay at the Inn for our 2nd night in Drymen.

What a brilliant recommendation... we loved our stay at the Kip in the Kirk. Both rooms were huge, yet so cosy. After spending a cold day at the Highland Games we arrived back here to a freshly brewed pot of tea and scones straight from the oven (with jam and cream, of course!). What a treat!

The breakfast was delicious - cereal, fresh fruit and croissants. It was lovely to sit around the big bench table in the kitchen chatting to the other travellers over our breakfast.

The large world map in the kitchen was a great way to see the variety of guests that have stayed in the past. One of our group was especially excited to add her "pin" to Fiji.

Our hostess was so lovely. Should we ever find ourselves in Scotland again, a stop at the Kip in the Kirk will definitely be on the cards.

Thanks for a fab review. Me and Jonny were away at an ultra running event in the Lake District when you stayed here with your friends, so we can't take the credit for your stay! I will certainly pass on your appreciation to my friend Lorraine and I know that she will be delighted to hear that you were so happy with everything. Thanks again Frances

Everything about the place is welcoming and comfortable. From the warm scones when you arrive to the waft of delicious croissants when you leave. This was the first stop on our hike along the West Highland Way and probably the best. A minutes walk to The Clachan and 3 other pubs around the village green (make sure you buy a steak pie or some haggis from the local butcher) and a short hop from the WHW route.

I was there with a friend. Everything is clean and nice. The breakfast was excellent, we ate yogurt with fresh fruits, chocolate corasons and the best jem and marmellade I ate in Scotland. Perfect score.

1st stop on West highland Way and undoubtably the best accommodation on the trip.
Comfortable living area, clean and wonderful breakfast to start the day.
Frances was an excellent host, and freshly made scones were such a treat on arrival.
Thoroughly recommend - cant imagine there's a better place to stay in the area.
