“Poor Hotel at the End of a Gorgeous Drive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

We visited this hotel whilst on holiday in the area during w/c 21st October 2013. The drive to the hotel must pass some of the most gorgeous scenery anywhere in the world. Just a pity the hotel at the end is a let down. 3 Hot chocolates were ordered, which looked and smelled like a mixture between an off creamy coffee and some gloop. When we asked for some snacks for the kids such as crisps or chocolate, we were told that the vending machine was out of order and that they had none.... poor service and half of the staff seemed uninterested. If you insist on driving to the end, pick up some snacks at the pier coffee shop on the way up first.

Returned yesterday from a 5 day trip based at Inversnaid Hotel.Although Lochs&Glens couldnt have arranged it? the weather was wonderful-clear blue skies and sunshine every day.The hotel is on the side of Loch Lomand and the views are spectacular. The rooms emmaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful. The menu -breakfast and dinner-excellent-something to suit all..Our tour guide was Morag-a character with a vast knowledge of wildlife and very sharp eyes- as she pointed out things to us that we may have missed..She has a love of "Hairy Coos" and "Scottish BUdgies"-Golden Eagles-both of which we saw-more "Hairy Coos" than eagles. The trips were good, the Saturday at Oban the sun shone and we sat outside a cafe enjoying a drink in the good Scottish Sunshine.-in October!.The Falkirk Wheel is an engeneering marvel.I am an Exiled Scot who has lived in Yorkshire for 37yrs,my partner had never been to Scotland before.and this trip opened up his eyes to what a beauttiful place and what marvellous scenery we have. Yes,the hotel is in need of a bit of refurbishment but it doesnt distract from the beauty of the establishment or its setting..The staff are mainly young europeans with excellent manners and very helpful. The whole tour was wonderful. A big thanks to all at hotel and to Morag. We will certainly book with Lochs&Glens again.Fantastic value.

Room Tip: take a ball of string-joke will be explained to you on arrival

Just come back from a Lochs and Glens trip, no warning about the road to the hotel 45 mins of hell. Drivers drove too fast for the conditions. Hotel was damp in the bedroom, the bed in room 84 has seen better days springs sticking out. Most of the staff were not from Scotland, but to be fair they did a good job. The excursions were average and dinner was served too late. I will not be going again.

Hi stayed at inversnaid hotel booked with lochs and glens.really great stay food good bedroom good view great over looking loch lomond.Boat trip to catch coach as the road!to hotel is a bit rough, and takes about 45 mins.we really enjoyed the trip.we enjoyed being waited on bit fed up with buffet meals. There was ample and am sure if asked for more,as with toast they would have accommodated you.The drivers /guides we had were great, nothing too much trouble,as the staff in hotel were. All in a gteat trip and will be repeating. all be it at a different lochs and glen hotel for a change

Room Tip: ask for a view of the loch

A coach trip with a difference.. Just had the most enjoyable trip. Early pick up at Clacton-On-Sea. 5.30am start. From the start to end 5 days later it was very professionally organised. The drivers cannot be faulted with great driving,a wealth of knowledge and a lovely comfy 3wk old coach.. Arrival at hotel was smooth and fuss free.. Food served very well and no waiting time at all. All the staff are friendly and will help at a drop of a hat...for the overall price paid and the service including day trips evening entertainment. We were lucky to have an excellent view of Loch Lomond but you don't really spend much time in room sleep and change... Bar prices very good not at all over the top ....Only really grumpy moaners would feel to complain... "It is what it is. " Good value ,comfy , good food no need to think break away.... Am looking to go next year ... Well done lochs & Glens, and thank you.

After a early start from Essex it was a long and strenuous journey to the inversnaid hotel Scotland we arrived at1830 and was given our room no 83 which overlooked loch lomond our room was a twin room with bath and shower the room was starting to look a bit tired our cases were brought to the room we had our meal at 1930 and the meals were all excellent the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly .
We were taken out everyday and were taken all around the trossachs .
We would like to say lochs& glens have done it again there's no scotched mist with lochs & glens you get what's on the can and more would recommend lochs &glens to anyone thinking of going to Scotland use a company who know what they are talking about.
