Ordered soup of the day - leek with potato, Thai fish cakes - good, fish & chips and lastly Mac and cheese.
Everything was excellent.
Please remember to order first at bar and then be seated.
Good fast service.
We had a fabulous lunch here.
Sit outside for great views of falls.

Thank shefpat

We came to eat here one night and it was full. Made a reservation for a table by the window for the next night. When we arrived, the table had just been occupied and would be for a while. Tried the reservation for the same table again for the next night with success. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.

Stopped by for lunch, and we were immediately impressed by the pub, which is full of character and in a great setting and with excellent real ales. We ordered cullen skink, but realised after about 15 minutes that they had somehow lost our order, as the pot of tea still hadn't arrived. They punched the order into the computer again, without a word of apology and then brought out two bowls of lukewarm soup which contained very little seafood and undercooked potatoes. At six quid a bowl, we weren't impressed. We complained to the barmaid, who just said she'd pass our comments onto the chef. Nobody offered an apology or offered any reduction in price. Such a shame that this spoiled our experience, and has put us off returning.

On a recent trip to the Central Highlands and Loch Tay, my family (3 young boys, my wife and I) ate at the Falls twice. On both occasions the service was excellent, very friendly and the waitresses/bar staff really made the boys feel special. So many places can make you feel that your children are unwelcome (apart from the usual play area/chain establishments), but that was definitely not the case - maybe if more places took a leaf from this place and realise that if you treat children well, they might behave well!

The food was fab - we tried various items from the menu during our two meals; succulent scallops, wonderfully spiced haggis, really hearty haunch of venison, venison casserole, fillet steak....everything was great, and not at all expensive. £12 (or thereabouts) for the haunch of venison - about half the price you'd expect to pay for similar quality in many other "gastropubs" I could name.

The weather in the Highlands is notoriously changeable, but this pub proved just as lovely after a day in the wind and rain as it did after a t-shirt day. A top pub, good food, good atmosphere, good service and good beer - lovely.
