“Average food”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

The food at Killin Hotel was very average but the fish was very poor. It still had bones in it and not long out the freezer and was very chewy and have much better at the chip shop.I went with two children who look at the desserts and the most expensive desserts on the childrens menu was a plate of bread, butter and jam?.

“Best impromptu lunch ever”
Reviewed 7 November 2013 via mobile

My partner and I were in killin and randomly drove to the end of the town discovered the hotel. Was going to grab a quick drink and once inside and seen the lovely dining room decided to have lunch. Was well worth it 13 quid for a 3 course meal sounded too good to be true. But the food was amazing and good portions. A few places is this area would do well to take a step in the killin hotel direction. Oh and the view was beautiful. Very warm and inviting and nice friendly staff.

Highly recommend the prawn starter and mushroom ravioli main delicious.

Well done. Will be back

Food was excellent and service was very personable. You are not rushed and are left to enjoy your meal and company. The menu is varied for all tastes.

“Good value”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

If you arrive before 6pm, you can get still get the lunch menu of 2 courses for £10.95, or 3 courses for £12.95. Really good value and good food. My friend said the home-made onion rings were the best she had ever tasted!

“cheft hasnt turned the oven on yet!”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

We were greeted by a very nice young lady on reception who told us that lunch would be served at 12 noon. We walked into the dining room and immediately another young woman ran in behind us and asked us what we wanted. We said we would like lunch and she said its not served yet! It was 11.55 a.m. at the time we went into the room. We just looked at clock and she got the hint and told us that we were in the wrong room and showed us to a conservatory and gave us menus. At 12.20 a waitress came out and took our order for drinks and food. she told us that as we had ordered a bacon and brie starter and the special of the day (steak and ale pie) that this would take longer as the chef had only just turned the oven on and meat orders take a long time. hmmm shouldn't the chef have been there prior to lunch service starting at 12? The bacon and brie starter and giant garlic mushroom starter were bland and tasteless, The main meal had clearly not been cooked for very long as the ale was still very strong in the pie - had it been cooked for the right length of time the alcohol would have blended into the sauce. surely if you have a special of the day this should be ready for serving at lunch time? We didn't bother to stay for dessert! I think this needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay!
