My wife and I eat at the Old Flax mill Restaurant on Thursday the 21st of July.
We had the most splendid evening with fantastic hosts and the most tasty meal you could wish to have. We would like to say a big thank you to Andrew and Lynette for making our last evening in Scotland a memorable one.....we shall return...good luck for the future.

Having visited the Old Flaxmill for a fantastic sunday lunch i wondered if this other person actually had really eaten there.I was greeted upon entry with a warm smile and hello, good afternoon and went on to have the most amazing sunday lunch. You could tell everything was fresh and cooked from scratch,(if you know what you are talking about, which i think this other person does not!)
The owners andrew and lynnette could not have done more for myself,my husband and my two children.Which by the way did get up and go to the toliet without "being told not to".
The starters were great, the main courses?Excellent,my husband especially raved about the beef!!!The puddings to die for.Lynnettes white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake.Bliss!!!
If you are visiting the killin area i would definately recommend the Old Flaxmill if you want proper freshly cooked food.

Whilst we were staying in nearby Dunira, we visited the Old Flax MIll restaurant one evening after a long drive in the Highlands, We were pretty desperate for something to eat, and given that the area has virtually nowehere for a meal we stumbled across this place.
It looked acceptable from the outside, but as soon as we entered we wished we hadn't.
Firstly, we were told by the rude woman owner that our 12-year-old son was not to stand up or walk from his seatm due to new Scots law, as it was a licensed premises! We have never heard if this rubbish before!
We then had virtually only looked at the board to see the menu when we nwere being urged to order! We orderd our meal, and it arroved far too soon after, never a good sign.
The food was substandard fayre, I had pie and chips(£8.95), my pie was obviously out of a supermarket and shoved in a microwave. My partner had fish and chips,(£8.50) which looked of a similar standard. Our son had a children's portion of sausage and chips (£4.25), with only one sausage! Tight or what??
However, the icing on the cake was when we ordered drinks, My partner and son ordered cokes, which cost £1.95 each! And were given a shot glass of coke each, which they drank in one gulp! I kid you not!
We were too tired and hungry to cause a scene, but I've never felt so ripped off in my life! All the time we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Our meals and drinks were virtually slammed on the table in front of us like we were cattle.
Don't go to this place if you can help it! It's a dive.
