“Service over and above the call of duty!”
Reviewed 21 May 2011

At the end of a long day cycling beautiful south loch Tay my weary family arrived at The Old Smiddy to a warm welcome from the family run bistro. Fresh hot and tasty food that suited all age groups in our party. Even after the restaurant closed we were invited in the lounge to await our transport and Michael still managed to smile and be entertaining at the end of a busy day. Thank you, Danke!

I notice upon my return to Ireland that The Old Smiddy also do rooms check out the website. We will be back. Tara & crew

“The best”

This was the best food we found all week during our stay at Loch Tay. The service was great and I would love to go back.

“Friendly & relaxing lunch spot”
Reviewed 25 October 2010

Situated in Killin close to the bridge and waterfalls with parking spaces and outside seating is this cafe/restaurant (which also does B&B).
The staff were very welcoming. We went through the modern cafe, which also sells take a way food to the room at the back and it was like being in an old Aunts parlour. It would be lovely and cosy on a dark rainy day.
As well as food they also sell reasonably priced wine and bottled beer. My husband had a steak pie, which was good, though not special. The chips that came with it were very nice. I opted for the Tapas platter, which was cold meat, feta cheese, olives, bread, etc with a cheese fondue in the middle to dip the bits in. It was a nice change from a sandwich! They also do fish and chips.
