Stayed here on a Saturday night in room 1 . Sure the room is small but it was clean & cosy & had character as opposed to the sterile hotel chains. The bathroom ceiling slopes steeply so a conventional shower would be impossible - perhaps a hose for the taps ?
I found the staff friendly & helpful . The evening meal was delicious though perhaps a bit over priced . Couldn't fault the breakfast
If I pay a return trip to Killin I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Truly beautiful location, with great views of the falls, and a lovely old building, but let down by the outrageous prices in the bar, and the disinterested bar staff. Will not be going in again, which is a shame. A glass of wine, pint of local beer, and a malt whisky was £13.05, whereas the same drinks in another pub 5 mins along the road was four pounds cheaper and served by a very friendly and helpful lady. We did not stay in the hotel, so my review is only about the bar, which unfortunately seems to be there only to part the unwary tourist from his or her hard earned cash

Driving home from a stay up north we decided on a stop-over and pulled into Killin. Very surprised at the size of the village. We chose the Falls of Dochart Inn to stay over at and were glad we did.
The staff were welcoming....as they should be...the place was clean...as it should be...the beer pipes had been cleaned...as they should be...the Real Ale was v.good...as it should be. The ambience of the bar/lounge/reception (all in one) ...is good.
We had dinner...nice selection and very, very enjoyable. (breakfast was more than adequate and in fact introduced us to the best ever yoghurt we have tasted.)
Our room was very comfortable...one or two niggly things such as having to move the kettle to the bedside floor to plug in...but there again I had to do that in a four star hotel in London.
I see some negative reporting of this hotel (inn)...I do not want to eat in a restaurant that allows dogs in, assisting or not and for someone to say the bedroom has a sloping floor...well this is a coaching inn several HUNDREDS of years old. Will we go back? Yes... in two weeks time... and if the owner reads this...mine's a real ale pint!

Room Tip: obviously we only stayed one room...no. 7 and the bedcwas comfy!

Spent 2 enjoyable nights. Stayed in room 1. Found the room small and cramped.but clean. No shower which was dissapointing. Making up for this was the cosy old world bar with open fire. And fabulous food. Felt comfortable and relaxed during the stay. Worth a visit.

First impression on walking into the bar/dining area was the smell - reminded me of an old byre (essence of sheep). The staff were very friendly and welcoming, no problems at all. Decor a bit dark, and everything felt a bit "greasy", as if it could do with a good wipe down (tables, floor, seats etc. Bedroom very cozy, four poster bed was extremely comfy. Great view of the falls in daylight, and underfloor heating in the bathroom. No shower curtain, and shower head of bathtaps - so didn't use shower, just had a bath... Breakfast freshly cooked, and cheery helpful waitress. An indepth wipedown and lick of paint would improve overall rating!

Room Tip: Ask for a four poster...

After visiting the beautiful water falls myself and the company I was in decided to take ourselves for a nice lunch. We were greeted by a waitress who advised us she was preparing a table for us and we gladly waited outside. Upon entering when our table was ready the manageress was extremely rude when noticing we had an assistant puppy with us. Much to our dismay we were then informed that assistant dogs are only allowed in the bar area of the hotel and not allowed in the restaurant where we were headed. I have now discovered that it is against the law to refuse a medical detection dog or any other assistant dogs.
I am extremely appalled at the manner in which we were presented with. Myself and the company I was in will certainly not be returning on or next visit to the area.
I would sincerely recommend the old bank in the neighbouring village as a fantastic place to eat with excellent service and staff who are extremely welcoming and helpful.

We had just one night there.
The food was excellent and served with a smile.
The real ale was top class. The bar was very busy earlier in the day, and the beers were running out! I had a couple of pints of Fyne Ales Maverick followed by 2 of a very special Fyne Ales, Fladda Rock. Fladda Rock, though on the strong side is superb like their Jarl.
The room was OK. The views from the pub are second to none. The small communal room is tastefully done, might be better used if there were a couple of chairs instead of the lovely desk.

Room Tip: Get one overlooking the falls if you can. Our overlooked 3 sad dogs and a cat in a garden.
