My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel recently on a "Wowcher" deal.

The public areas of the hotel are lovely and generally quite well kept. We spent a very pleasant evening in front of the fire in the bar area and enjoyed a very tasty meal with rather large portions. The bar area gets very busy in the evenings and booking for the restaurant is essential as there seem to be limited dining facilities in the village which adds to demand. There is also some outside seating which like everywhere in Killin provide some excellent views.

Breakfast was served through a very short window of 08:00 to 09:30 and was nice although could certainly be improved on through the use of local produce rather than the usual generic catering jam portions.

There is car parking available in front of the hotel, although this is limited and fills up very quickly

The room itself was clean although needing a bit of work. The main part of the room was spacious however the bed was quite uncomfortable. The bathroom was very small and showing some signs of damp due to the steam from the shower.

In all the hotel made a lovely base for a couple of days in the country and we would certainly go again.

Stayed overnight recently on Living Social deal, bar/conservatory/breakfast room first class but dining room way too bright so pleased we were able to dine in conservatory. Bedroom big disappointment, tired and very dated - had to open door to tiny toilet area to gain access to shower (which was little more than a trickle), toilet carpeted and the wash hand basin was separate from the toilet and was in the bedroom - perhaps the normal standard of a "deal room" but can't help feeling it let down the hotel overall which is a shame as wouldn't be very pleasant to stay in this room for longer.
Can't fault the friendliness of the staff, food was lovely as was the bar which had a great roaring fire going.

Stayed 2 nights. Room was spacious, well furnished and clean. Breakfast is excellent, dinner on first night was good. Bar is lovely and welcoming, staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Do not expect TV reception, due to location the reception is adversely affected by the weather - nothing you can do about this. Would be good to have WI-FI in the rooms and not just near reception. Make sure you get out and about, either by car or walking - lots to see and do in the area. Stunning scenery and good local attractions. Also they take dogs - we did not have any problems with this but some people might. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a lovely location and the public areas are fine.we booked a group on deal and had the last available room for Friday and Saturday night, room 31 at the rear on 3rd floor, don,t take this room if offered ,wallpaper hanging off hardly any pressure of hot water in shower, tiny TV ,we had a nice meal after a bit of a wait as a member of staff had not booked our name onto the reservation list, beds were comfy and clean but shower was a bit of an ordeal the next morning. We were both not feeling very well and decided we couldn't stay another night in that room, maybe if we were ok we would have stayed, all in all I don,t think We would stay there again.

We got a 3 night stay at the hotel from a family member for Christmas and we went 2 weeks ago. The location of the hotel was great and the view from the room was over the mountain (room 32). The food at the restaurant was amazing, especially the black pudding! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a big dog with us and although he's still a puppy and a bit jumpy, no one complained or seemed to be bothered. The town itself was alright. It was very quiet and empty and there's not much to do there. We ended up leaving after 2 nights. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the room, knowing we had a dog with us, I would've expected a bigger room. We had barely any space for our bags and for the dog to sleep, that was extremely inconvenient. Other than that, it was alright.

Room Tip: Choose number 32 if you want the view over the mountain and over the entrance (where the cars are pa...

We are just back from a two night stay and have to say it was excellent. The staff were brilliant and friendly (especially the young scottish guy) food was delicious and plentiful and other guests at the hotel were lovely too. I had never been to killin before and have to say I was impressed with the whole area and this hotel is the perfect location to get out and explore.

The only issue we had was the shower not mounted on the wall in our room and no shower curtain which meant the bathroom was soaking wet after attempting a shower.

Overall, we had a brilliant time and will definitely be back at some point. I'm also assuming that the hotel has had a bit of a makeover as it was not run down or dated as I read from some reviewers on here. I just thought it was very typically Scottish and that's what we like.
