“Fantastic Stay With Wonderful Hosts In A Lovely Location”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

I stayed here a few years ago and was welcomed as a single traveller. My room (attic) was very homely and the owners were lovely, my abiding memory was of the home made marmalade that I had at breakfast (all of which was delicious but this stood out)!

Couldn't recommend enough and would definitely stay again on my next visit.

Originally planned a four night stay,,6th Aug-9th Aug,,,,ended up adding another night due to not wanting to leave Craigbuie guest house and Killin. The welcome and hospitality,,,and generosity from the owners could not be faulted,,both very knowledgeable and friendly. As for the breakfast,,perfect and filling. The Guest house itself was clean, tidy and well presented,,,,and most importantly,,,damn quiet,,,no road noise.A perfect retreat for both couples and families alike. All amenities are within walking distance from the guest house,,plus there were coffee/tea making facillities in the room and a spot on en-suite.Our room was well laid out,,cleaned and aired/laundered every day,,comfy bed aswell. All in all a perfect stay in a perfect guest house,, i simply cannot recommend this guest house enough,,made our stay in Killin better than ever,,and we have been to Killin for the last four years.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Killin,,that is both comfortable and affordable,,then Craigbuie Guest House is the place for you. Many, many thanks for a brilliant stay,,we will definitely be returning

We stayed here for one night in the end of June (some places in Killin insist on minimum of two nights). The hosts were really welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was spacious and spotless and the guest house was right in the centre of the village. Breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of choice. There were lots of tea , coffee and milks etc in bedroom, you were not rationed like some places! Would not hesitate to book in again when in the area.

Where to start, how about at arrival. On arrival in Killin I drove nice and slow looking for the B&B. It was found in the best possible location, centre of the village, with the pub about 100m down the road and with the Outdoor shop opposite (I'm a hiker/climber/cyclist).

Once i'd parked in the ample car-parking we were greeted by Vic, Sue was out. He appeared at first glance to be an excellent host, showed us to our room and explained everything before leaving us to settle in.

We chose room 4. It was stunning. The room is large - now I'm home I'm annoyed at how small my own room is! It has a nice large Kingsize sleigh bed which is nice and comfy. A large bay window looking out over both the village and the mountains and has two nice chairs and a coffee table. I made much use of both of these when editing photos on my laptop.

The bathroom is massive, a large corner bath with shower attachment, sink and toliet. I don't normally take a bath (no I'm not dirty - I shower) but this was nice. After a hard day cycling it was nice to come back to a nice warm room and lie in the bath getting warm and feeling my toes again.

As for breakfast, it was great. I chose the full Scottish without black pudding (I hate the stuff). This breakfast had haggis.....wow. Not had it for breakfast before and it was lovely. Locally made (as are the sausages).

Vic & Sue are excellent hosts. They have good conversation and will try to sort out any issues you might have. I took two expensive road cycles (very expensive!!!!) and Vic made sure that they were stored nice and safely - not that there is much crime when the police station is a few doors up the road!

I really do intend to go back in January or March. I've stayed in many B&B's throughout the UK and I must say that this is one of the best - partly because of the place, it's great location and excellent rooms. But more because of the very friendly nature of the hosts, that makes a good stay into a great one.

Rich

Room Tip: Room 4 is brilliant.

Stayed two nights and couldn't have asked for anything more. Vic & Sue were the perfect hosts who made us both feel relaxed and at home. Lovely big room (number 4) which was clean and well stocked with tea and coffees. Both are very knowledgeable about the local and surrounding area; and are pleased to give any advice on things to do and where to go. Great breakfast which sets you up for the day. Couldn't have masked for anything more.
Thanks To Vic & Sue for the perfect stay.
