Just back after having spent two nights at this hotel. Had a lovely time, Amanda and Bob the best hosts yet at any hotel we have stayed in, nothing too much trouble and made to feel so welcome. We had a lovely room at the back of the hotel(room 4) with views of the falls, you can hear the water running quite clearly.....nice. Food was fab both nights and a good breakfast to start the day, what more could you ask for. The rest of the staff were very friendly and we will definately be back. Thanks again for a lovely time.

Just back from a one night stay on an internet deal - had a lovely time. Sometimes you feel like a second class citizen handing over your voucher, but here we couldn't have been made feel more welcome. From the moment we checked in the staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. We were given Room 3 (to the front on the first floor, with an original feature fireplace wall and two single beds pushed together - not my first choice, but the beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom is clean and fresh and relatively newly fitted - tons of very hot water too. We've eaten in the restaurant on a few occasions and the food is always delicious, and this trip was no exception. I had the tomato soup, my partner the black pudding and poached egg to start, followed by the steak for him and a stuffed tomato dish that wasn't on the menu, but the very helpful receptionist/waitress/barmaid Danielle, who seemed to be everywhere at once, suggested along with a third option. Finding interesting and varied meals for Veggies is always a problem, but I've never eaten anything at the Bridge of Lochay that hasn't been delicious. My carnivorous other half said his steak was fabulous and perfectly cooked to order. Breakfast was very tasty too - the full works for him, and scrambled eggs for me - free range eggs from their own hens apparently - plus the usual buffet options - all served with a cheery smile and bit of banter. The hotel is not as smart as some, but it is clean, welcoming and with a warm friendly atmosphere that puts it at the top of table in Killin as far as we're concerned. We'll be back - hopefully very soon.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 or 5 apparently have the best views

The welcome and atmosphere are outstanding - like a family hotel vs. the typical faceless bland and 'cold' places you get so many of these days - the hotel is very nice with relatively modern rooms.
The staff could not do enough for me.
The food is probably the best in Killin, it's as though they've got a couple of Michelin Chefs chained up in the kitchen. The food was outstanding, juicy tender stakes you could build a house out of to.... I won't spoil the surprise.... suffice to say you have to got to a real Michelin star restaurant to get appreciably better. There are some unuque items on the menu that were well worth trying - for example iced souffle, sounds odd, but tastes exactly like ice cream and ultra fluffy sorbet. The presentation/plating up of the food was top-notch, with a lot of care taken.
If you are a foodie that values a great atmosphere there is no other choice worth considering; nothing comes close in Killin.

Room Tip: I asked for a room at the back and I like the noise from the adjacant river rapid which I thought wa...

We stayed here on Sat 5th October with a voucher and to be honest I was kind of expecting it to be not that good , well how wrong was I , we got a very nice welcome from the girl on reception who was basically everywhere during our stay , the rooms where very comfortable and decorated to a really nice standard - the building is an old coaching inn which gives it a real old and ancient feel which we really liked , all the food we had was superb so no complaints about that , cant really complain about anything really except the gents toilet which had one tap that was dry.
We will return to this hotel as it was a very enjoyable experience and to the guests who have given this hotel a bad review I think you need to waken up and stop being so petty.

Room Tip: Only seen room 1 and 2 and these where fine , clean and tidy.

my wife was given an overnight stay for two as a birthday gift. We arrived at the hotel on a very wet and windy day really looking forward to a nice chill out night. The hotel could not have been better right from booking in to leaving the next morning. The owners and staff could not do enough for us, nothing was to much bother. We had intended to walk into the village for an evening meal but because of the weather decided to dine in the hotel restaurant and what a great decision that turned out to be.The food and service are first class served again by cheerful and helpful staff, one girl Dannielle I think seemed to be everywhere. We will definitely be back

My wife and I travelled to Killin to spend a couple of nights at The Bridge of Lochay Hotel. The reception was a warm one when we were met by one of the guys working in the Family run business. He was very welcoming, and showed us to our room. The accommodation was very comfortable consisting of a large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and shower. The double bed was very spacious and although there were two pillows each they are somewhat soft and could be perhaps replaced with firmer ones. That said, the room is equipped with a wall mounted TV that has a clear reception on the popular channels,,tea and coffee making facilities with a plentifull supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The restaurant and breakfast area are very pleasant. We used the restaurant both evenings and found the food to be very well presented, full of flavour, and served in a pleasant informal manner. The food was properly cooked, fresh and hot. Excelent..!
The owners are allways about, and available to provide advice on local places of interest.
Highly recommend the Hotel if passing through the area.

Room Tip: Being a very old building, the room above the bar has not got the best soundproofing, therefor if yo...

After a weekend camping in a stormy north West coast of Scotland I emailed the owners of the Bridge of Lochay to see if they would allow me to use a 5pm voucher prior to its start date.

The email replies were friendly and confirmed that we would be most welcome.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and the young girl at reception (who also served us our evening meal) provided us with all the necessary info and a wee tour of the hotel. What a lovely quaint hotel it is too.

Our room (room 8) was a family room with a double and single bed (no charge for our 4 yr old grandson). We had our wee spaniel (£10 charge - which I never understand in any hotel -what's the extra cleaning coast that wouldn't be done anyhow - I know dirty people far worse that a wee dog), and to be fair there were no lectures about doggy rules. Nice big bathroom with shower / bath and lots of hot water.

We ate in the bar and the food was simply outstanding, and reasonably priced. Good local produce and cooked to a very high standard. Bread, chilled water served with your meal at no extra cost. Venison was so tasty.

To top it all off - the breakfast was brilliant. Lots of fresh coffee, and a massive Scottish breakie with haggis, black pudding, the works!

Killin is a glorious wee village, with lots of nice walks, shops and pubs. However, on this visit we hardly ventured away from the Bridge of Lochay, apart from a nice walk up the glen.

I really hope to be back soon.
