“A Fantastic and well equipped retreat”
Reviewed 26 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We visited this beautifully presented barn conversion with friends in mid November. Despite the outside temperature being a little on the chilly side the cottage was soon heated to a very agreeable temperature. The vestibule had underfloor heating that served as a very good buffer between the outside and the main body of the building. It was also great to be able to dry coats and boots in this area. The cottage is very well equipped with lots of entertainment in the form of DVDs, books, etc. A good WiFi connection is provided. The two bedrooms and the bathroom/ shower are on the ground floor with a spacious, light and airy living area/ kitchen upstairs. The kitchen has all mod-cons, washing machine, fridge, dishwasher etc. The living area is very comfortable with plenty of soft furnishing, a veritable home from home!
The cottage is very close to the Falls of Dochart and the local Inn is virtually on the doorstep but far enough away not to be troubled by any noise or car parking.
The cottage is easy to find, well equipped and in a beautiful location. We would recommend this property unreservedly. Turn up and relax!

“Beautiful home from home in the most idyllic setting”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Barn Cottage felt like home as soon as we walked through the door. The cottage is located about 200 yards from the cosy village pub, the falls and the main road that leads on to a number of country walks and hikes. There really is everything you need within walking distance from the cottage. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped with everything including towels, leaflets of activities and walks local to the area, condiments to save you bringing, blankets etc –basically everything you need to make your visit as straightforward as possible. Karen and her husband were there to greet us and show us around the cottage, giving us the basics on how to operate the kitchen appliances, washing machine, heating etc which was really nice.

The cottage was very warm – heating up almost instantly with the little electric heater. With the living area being upstairs it stays nice and toasty in an evening with just the fire on – perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a card game.

There were 4 of us and the dog that stayed for 4 nights – certainly plenty room for all of us. It turned out that we were the first guests to stay in the cottage. We all would wholeheartedly go back in a minute. We all would highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking to just get away from it all. Barn Cottage really is a beautiful home from home in the most idyllic setting.

Thanks for having us.

Liked best: Location, cosy & close to all village amenities
Liked least: Only a note - although not a problem for us, the internal stairs are quite steep up to the living area. For older folk and young children, it might be an issue.

“Lovely cottage, great location”

During one of our Munro 'expeditions' my son and I spent 4 nights at Barn cottage. We couldn't have chosen better.

The cottage is immaculate, with everything you need after an active day outside - in our case several on wet and windy mountains. There is a heated porch (perfect for drying our walking paraphernalia), two bedrooms and upstairs a comfortable and well-equipped lounge/kitchen area.

Even better is the location. The cottage is in a quiet spot on the River Dochart and less than 100m from the beautiful Falls of Dochart - lovely in October and it must be wonderful in the summer. From this secluded site you are within a short walk of all of Killin's services including several restaurants, pubs/bars and a supermarket.

We will definitely be back!
