We all thoroughly enjoyed our week of very mixed weather at Little Briar Cottage, we being 3 adults and a dog.
The location could not have been bettered, such a beautiful place, and such wonderful views. We explored all of the area, and the cottage itself was lovely to come home to every evening. Kim and Fraser were so welcoming and friendly, we may return some day.
I have given 4 stars to the rooms, which are lovely, but necessarily small.

Room Tip: We also saw The Steading, a much larger, beautiful property, on the same site, where pets are not al...

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are pleased that you enjoyed Little Briar Cottage, the grounds and area. Yes, Little Briar is very compact in its layout. It is popular with 2 adults, couples with young families, or family and friends that know each other well enough. Many choose it in winter months because it is small and cosy. You mention Briar Steading our luxury cottage. It is fair to say that Little Briar could fit into the open plan living area of our luxury cottage. We built that one with bedrooms en-suite on each gable end to enable space and privacy. We decided to allow dogs in Little Briar and not in the luxury cottage so that there is a choice for those that prefer a pet free environment for allergies or other reasons. Thanks again for your comments and your positive feedback. It was lovely to meet and chat with you and we hope that you do return some day.

All the best,

Kim and Fraser Proven

I have read the excellent reviews here and can only concur with them. I have stayed in many places throughout this beautiful country of ours and can safely say that the location, standard of accommodation, view and hosts are second to none. This is the perfect site for a young or old family or a group of walkers. I have recommended this cottage to my friends and family with no hesitation.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed the ever changing views over Loch Earn and the mountains and how kind of you to email me with copies of your lovely landscape photographs. The one of the stream meandering down the side of Briar Cottages gardens is better than any that I have. Kindest regards Kim and Fraser

The glowing reviews do pay justice to this lovely place. As many have already pointed out, the location is perfect; the views breathtaking; the hosts are among the friendliest and most helpful you'll come across.
We stayed in Little Briar with our one-year old son and found it to be perfect for a small family. The large garden and the proximity to the loch and to the watersports centre make this an ideal location for any type of break (sporty or romantic, for couple, family or friends).
And if you tend towards the antisocial type, have no fear: the hosts, Kim and Fraser, are happy to offer help, advice and a few anecdotes and will happily share a glass (or two) with you, but they'll only do so if you're up for it.

Thank you kindly. It is never too late to add a review and we really value your comments on Little Briar Cottage and our three acre gardens and loch garden. We do appreciate how lucky we are to be so close to The Lochearnhead Water Sports centre and cafe; a popular venue for visitors. We do love to show off the b listed thatched cottage that we live in and to share the history of its crofting tenants over a drink or tea, however, we will always aim to be sensitive to individual requirements and space. We are sure that santa will be good to your wee one. Have a Merry Christmas.

Clean, comfortable cottages with views you would never tire of. We have visited the Loch Earn area at least once a year for 20 plus years and have never thought about staying as it is only about 40 minutes away from where we live. With blizzards forecast we took the chance of booking for a few days stay. Snow outside and the warmth of the wood burning stove (and electric radiators!) inside we found we would look out at the stunning views over the loch and hills for hours. Good food is available locally if you don't want to cook in the well appointed kitchen.
The owners, Fraser and Kim are born to be hosts and were so helpful and a joy to meet. We thoroughly recommend the area and the accommodation

Delighted that you enjoyed your winter break and the views over Loch Earn to snow capped Glen Ample and Stuc A Chroin from Briar Steading. More and more people are visiting and taking holiday breaks all year round within a 30-60 mile radius knowing that they can be on holiday enjoying the peaceful landscape and wildlife within an hours drive. Thank you for sharing your generous comments and all the best for a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones.

We had a great time at Little Briar cottage and the cosy cottage could easily accomodate a group of 4 including two teenagers. The views of the loch from the decking is beautiful and takes a different hue as night sets in. Loved sitting out at night with a wee dram and listening to the burn. Kim and Fraser are gracious hosts and make you feel welcome from the first time you meet them.We would highly recommend Little Briar for anyone looking for a relaxing time in picturesque scottish countryside.
