“Singing and canoeing”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

Excellent time had by all - not even the drizzle dampened our day - indeed the majestic clouds clinging to ancient woodland enhanced the whole experience as we paddled gently (quite a distance) up, across and down Loch Goil with Ian, the steersman keeping us on the right track whilst regaling us with fascinating information on the loch and its residents - wild and human - past and present. I will definitely do this again.

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

A beautiful boat, beautiful location and warm wonderful organisers. What a relaxing (with a bit of paddling exercise!) morning, with informative and interesting guidance from Ian. And a beautiful singing workshop beforehand! Thank you so much, I will be bringing friends in the summer for a longer trip and picnic. X

“Songs of the Paddle”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

A unique and heart lifting experience organised by Argyll Canoes. Wish I could do it every week. Excellent organisation, and steersman, Ian, has a wealth of knowledge to share on the history and ecology of the beautiful Loch Goil. I'll definitely be back.

“Not quite what we expected but good fun anyway!”
Reviewed 26 August 2013 via mobile

We had been looking to hire some canoes on Loch Goil or Loch Long and found Ian's number. You can't actually rent a boat and go off yourself (yet - he might introduce this option in the future), instead you go in a 12-person boat and paddle with whoever else has booked.

This worked out really well in the end, as our family of 5 might have struggled with such a big canoe and the other paddlers helped us to explore Loch Goil on our 2 hour trip. My daughter also took a shine to one of the other boy paddlers so it was extra fun for her!

Ian steers, chats and generally keeps the boat moving and is a really nice, straightforward guy with local roots who deserves success with his business.

“Tops for fun, value and interest”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Fantastic experience for children and adults. Maximised the natural location of Lochgoilhead. Travelling on the water in 10 person Voyageur canoe guided by steersman Ian (business owner/operator) made for lovely few hours. We all provided the paddle power, but it's geared to passengers' pace, so equally comfortable for 7 to 70yr olds. Felt really stable. Had lunchtime 'stop-over' on secluded pebbly beach where kids (if all ages-might I add!) enjoyed making fire with flintstone & collected kindling. Ian provided drinks-kids impressed with hot chocolate & toasted marshmallows! Whilst we paddled Ian gave us lots of interesting, quirky information about the area & the wildlife. We saw, amongst other animals, gannets, herons, jelly fish, jumping fish & best of all a colony of seals. Great day out-truly at one with nature. Would recommend to all & will certainly go out again next time we visit, shame have to wait 12 months.
