Shona was very accommodating, we arrived with excellent directions to Doune Farm. Shona left us a lovely spread, that saw us through the night as we had arrived on bank holiday and traffic in luss was at an unusual standstill. Even though we never met she did all she could to meet our needs.
Off the beat and track far removed from the hustle and bustle the hills came alive.
We explored every crevice, swam in the river and lived country life for nearly a week.
We had a lot fire and 360 degrees view.
We were a family of 5, Shona kindly put up an extra bed.
So we had no wifi, but travel Helensburgh and Ballochs and wifi is available..if your like me who can't function without it. Not just the lack of wifi but phone signal.. I got nothing zilch. It's a pleasant isolation but one none the less. The weather was the hottest in Scotland, which truly showcased Loch Lomond and Trossachs National park. Golfing in the area is exceptional too.
This property has a lot to offer.
I wish I could live here. I love it so much, it was the loveliest weekend away I have ever had. I found it a very spiritually calming place away from the city. The house is bigger than I expected and the views are inspiring.
I think of this cottage nearly every other day and wish I could afford to come a couple of times a month ! There is something special about this place. I can't wait to come back here. My wee baby loved the garden.
You could not ask for a more accommodating host, there was 5* treatment and lots of high end snacks to enjoy when arriving. Life's little treasures is experiencing a treasure like this. x
