We booked afternoon tea as a birthday treat. The location and view is fabulous and we did enjoy ourselves. However, the afternoon tea was not what was advertised on the website and despite advising in advance that we had a vegetarian in our party, it appeared to come as great surprise to the waiting staff. The best they could provide was a salad sandwich!
There were strawberries in chocolate which were nice but the scones were quite dry and were not particularly fresh.
This was one of the poorest afternoon teas we have had and at £22.50 a head was not cheap.
There was no one else having afternoon tea so maybe this just isn't something they are good at.

Colquhoun's in Lodge on Loch Lommond is a great place to eat and enjoy a few drinks. The menu seems to have been updated too and offers a wide choice and variety of foods. We loved everything, especially the anti pasti starter, Asian style salmon and steak. The staff are very helpful too and the stunning views over the loch creates a great atmosphere to unwind. Very cozy and relaxing.

Buffet Scottish breakfast was plentiful but a bit lacking in taste. Lunch offered a varied menu with some Scottish and local offerings. Portions were good and service friendly, if a tad slow. Views over the loch are wonderful.

This place came recommended by the Cameron House hotel. It might be part of the same chain but we just stopped by for a beer, then decided to stay for dinner. The first time we just had main course because we'd had an afternoon tea earlier in the day. But it was so good we had to return again the next day having starved ourselves with the intention of getting through all 3 courses. Alas we didn't but we still had another great meal, at very reasonable prices. What I really liked is that the chef takes as much care over cooking for kids, with a very light crispy batter for the fried things that are so popular. These must have also been the best chips I've tasted in Scotland. The view of Loch Lomond is stunning, and despite not having a reservation, there was no problem fitting us in on both occasions. This is a great place. Top marks to the kitchen for the care and dedication in preparing and presenting food. A lovely experience.

I booked this to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary as we live local and the location and views are second to none.

However that is all I can be positive about. from the moment we walked in we were disappointed.
there was a strange smell which I will describe as burning fat. this permeated throughout the restaurant and was quite off putting. The lounge area where we sat prior to being seated was drab and in need of an update and the menu is very limited.
The staff were friendly enough but scruffy. we stayed for one drink and then left.
Unless there are some drastic changes, we won't be back and I won't be recommending it which is a real shame as the location is breath-taking.
