Our second visit, and this place just gets better and better! 10/10 for everything, location, staff, room, restaurant, facilities, beach, view. I have never had a better meal! We nearly had to be dragged kicking and screaming at check out time! Thank you to Nigel, Heather and all the staff for a lovely stay!

Booked a weekend away for me and the wife as a surprise. For the money paid I expected a little more class and style. The location is lovely and so was the food, however the hotel and rooms are in dire need of redevelopment. It's probably a good idea to check if there is a wedding on if you book over the weekend as it can be quite hectic and mis managed. The restaurant manager also needs a few lessons in staff etiquette as he likes to be heard.

Disappointed. Probably wouldn't book again.

Room Tip: Carter suites face the loch.

This was a nice location and easy to find. Whilst it was a nice hotel with some lovely views, it wasn't as 'wow' as we had hoped. Albeit mainly minor points, there were quite a few of them that accumulate to only score this hotel 'average'.

The corridors were very narrow and difficult to negotiate with luggage. The room was a little cramped because there was a lot of furniture in the room. The décor was mainly pine with some bizarre pictures on the wall as well. The gates to the beach were mostly locked and it took a little bit of effort to work out which way to get down there. Also, the service was good but the staff seemed a bit grumpy in the restaurant.

We stayed in the Cuillin Suite and can recommend this for spaciousness, cleanliness, view and comfort. One very minor criticism is that the venetian blinds could do with a dust, also it needs re-wallpapering. The restaurant is excellent and the service friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: The Cuillin Suites have a great view over the loch and a balcony

Just spent at wonderful weekend celebrating the wedding of our daughter and her husband. Most of the 90+ guests were accommodated in the Lodge for 2 nights. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very flexible to the needs of our guests. We never felt rushed or limited. All guests were made to feel very special and spoiled in their luxury accommodation - beautiful guest rooms and public areas. Some of us even got a chance to make use of the lovely spa facilities. The food throughout our stay was excellent - very tasty and well presented. Our guests had travelled from throughout the UK to attend the wedding and certainly felt they had experienced the best that Loch Lomond had to offer.
Thankyou to the whole team for helping to make this a truly memorable experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view - you are spoiled for choice!

We stayed here on 5 May in the annexe in an executive room and this was to a very high standard with a balcony and views of the Loch. We used the pool and facilities which were again very clean and well maintained, the nice thing about this hotel is even when it is busy you still are able to use the pool etc without feeling overcrowding. We requested a table overlooking the loch and were given this for both our evening meal and breakfast, such a stunning location the table just added to the fantastic food and attention received from the staff. The bar area is very relaxing and again lovely views, if your looking for a place to unwind this hotel is it. Nigel the manager was very friendly and accommodating as were all the staff throughout the stay and I would certainly recommend this place.

Room Tip: If you are in the Annexe ask for a room in the middle as this will be better views

We stayed here for a night as a gift from our children for our silver wedding anniversary, it was a real treat from start to finish. When we arrived we were efficiently checked in and directed to our room, the Carter suite. It may have been nice to be shown to our room but my husband was stopped on the way and offered a complementary bottle of fizz to be put in the room by the manager, however declined as our children had already arranged champagne which was delivered shortly after we arrived. We also arranged our table for dinner, requesting a loch side view which the manager also arranged allowing my husband to choose his preferred table. This hotel, by far, is graced by the most beautiful views you could possibly see in the whole of the loch. Absolutely stunning!

Our room was lovely, large with a living area, bed room, bath with overhead shower, sauna and separate toilet. The view again was amazing! The huge double balcony was put to good use as we had our champagne, you almost felt you were sitting on the loch! We were lucky as the weather was dry and mild. Unfortunately I felt the room was rather tired and the hotel on the whole could perhaps do with being brought into 2014. It is perhaps still in the 1980s and although we fully expected it to be like a 'lodge', the roof fans, sauna like walls were perhaps a bit too outdated? The doors and reception could have a facelift we felt. Smoking ashtrays at all the doors lower the ambience too at this quality of hotel. Perhaps putting an area away from the doors? That aside it was lovely and clean and I used the leisure facilities and the swimming pool was lovely!

I broke my phone charger which left me unable to charge my phone and take photos of the beautiful loch! Hayley at reception however came to my rescue kindly lending me hers, leaving it in our room. This was so kind and very much appreciated.

We had an amazing dinner in the evening and breakfast was very good too. I have left a separate review for Colquhouns. We were even given a card and two glasses of champagne from the hotel staff which was lovely.

All in all we had a lovely stay in the Lodge on the Loch and it's situation is second to none! We would definitely be more inclined to come back if it had a face lift but thank you for a memorable stay!

Room Tip: The Carter suite had a lovely double balcony overlooking the loch. It was lovely and roomy and has i...

With regard to your comments about the hotel being "tired"I would add that we have upgraded over 20 of our guest rooms but have deliberately kept these very much in true Lodge style with a view to offer our guests an entirely unique experience.
