This hotel is an opportunity totally wasted.
It has a stunning location, with a captive audience - it is virtually at the end of the road at that part of Loch Lomond - only the Rowardennan YH is further down the Loch.
The management and staff are totally complacent, they are "just about" polite to their customers. There was a middle aged man behind the bar - don't know if he is the owner or one of the members of staff - his brusque attitude leaves a lot to be desired.
I ordered tea, soup and a sandwich - and that is what I got. Absolutely no frills - a bowl of soup - and a plate with two slices of bread with some tuna mayo slapped in the middle.
At the prices they charge - a few frills would have been nice.
It says a lot that on the day I visited - there was a massive race over the WHW going on - the hotel (with the exception of a hen party group) was not that busy - with a virtually empty car park.
They need to buck up their ideas - or maybe they don't care.
