Stayed here for our seond night on the West Highland Way. Our was served quickly in a crowded restaurant by friendly staff. My venison was a bit on the fatty side, but to be honest at the end of a very long day walking I was too tired to care and was grateful for hot, filling food! I wouldn't make a trip to this restaurant for a meal if I hadn't been staying there. Breakfast the following morning however, was really nice - scrambled egg and bacon muffin, delicious!

I'm no Egon Ronay but...
It truly angers me to think that people come from the world over to be treated to this kind of grim service. Clearly they know that they can survive well enough, in the knowledge that they don't need repeat business to sustain them.

They say a fish rots from the head, and it seems true in this godawful episode, where the first angry child to serve me appeared to be the key carrier/supervisor. The second altercation came when the next angry wean flatly told me that what I ordered didn't exist on the menu, which was chalked onto the board right next to him. This was followed by a selection of slack-witted sullen faced eedjits bringing cutlery etc to the table.

Thankfully we were all starving, so the big portions of Iceland food went down well enough.

In conclusion, this place depends entirely on its stunning location to get by. If this place was anywhere else it wouldn't last 6 months. Great shame.
