“First munro”
Reviewed 29 August 2014 via mobile

What a view! As first time munro walkers my friend and I were unsure of what to expect, except that it wasn't going to be easy. Going by some of these reviews I can agree it's a tough slog upwards. Using the main route up it feels like your walking up giant steps that never end. I thought I was Of Ok fitness but half am hour in I did wonder if I could complete it. However, persevere it gets a tad easier, once out of the woods the views are astounding and spurred Me on to the top. The sense of achievement at the top is just amazing. Coming down we choose the "other" route which beware, has some really steep, slippy bits but the views of Loch lomond are just amazing. Weather was on our side today so all in all a tough but great day! What one next!

“We came, we saw, we conquered!”

A really tough slog both up AND down, but well worth it for the views at the top, and the sense of achievement. Won't be doing it again though!

“Wet and windy but made it”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We decided to climb Ben Lomond and despite being summer it was blowing a gale, pouring rain and freezing cold. The path is easy to follow but quite steep and rocky. It just keeps rising and rising. Definitely only for fit walkers. Upon reaching the top we couldn't see a thing but was still an achievement considering the weather. At around 600 metres though we were able to see out over Loch Lomond and the islands which was very beautiful. Would be amazing to do on a sunny day but not sure if they ever happen in Scotland.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Narrow roads getting there, and lots of deer in the area. Be careful driving there and back. Avoid early morning and after dark.
Hiked about 1.5 hours for some views and old/ancient settlement ruins and bench with a view.
Trails are not well-marked by US standards, nor do they inform you of distance, time, difficulty, or altitude. However, they are wide, mostly level, and very well maintained.
Fell in love with Scotland with this park. The scent of the forest down by the lake was amazing. Not sure how to describe it: a mix of sassafrass and spice perhaps. It was invigorating. I could also feel the energy of the land here. I felt at home here.
Saw some deer several times, and was able to take some good pictures of them.
