We stayed for two nights with our dog and had a lovely break in a fab setting. We were in room number 2 with a stunning view of the loch and Ben Lomond. The hotel has been refurbished and our room was tastefully decorated and the on suite was all shiny and new with modern shower etc. the bed was comfy and all in all we were surprised to be allocated such a nice room as we were travelling with our dog. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good and hearty in the bar. The breakfast was good with a veggie option too. Our wee dog was made welcome in our room and also in the bar where the barman made a fuss of her and gave her a wee treat. We walked up Ben Lomond on our first day which was fab - getting up as far as just beyond the snow line and I would encourage folk, if they are able, to walk a little way up the hill as the views are stunning and well worth the effort!!

Room Tip: Room numbers 1 and 2 have fab views of the loch and the Ben

just back from a 2 night deal (Edinburghs great deals) was so much nicer than we expected, normally with these deals the rooms are a bit shabby- but no, lovely room, really friendly staff and excellent chefs, the food was really nice, especially the steak pie! we were so lucky that the sun also shone- would definetely stay again if in the area. Lovely setting!

Stayed here for two nights in February 2013. After reaching the hotel at the end of a very windy road we checked in with pleasure with a very cheerful lady. We stayed in room 5 which was ample sized with a huge bed, massive TV and beautiful en suite with bath. The room did not have a loch view but with the window open you could see the view out to the side which was sufficient for us. The hotel is family run with one woman in particular who seemed to be doing everything always with a smile. The food from the bar was brilliant, cannot fault it at all. Between the two of us over two nights we enjoyed delights such as pâté, homemade soup, potato and bacon salad, steak pie, steak burger and rib eye steak. All faultless. Drinks were reasonably priced, can either charge it to your room and pay on departure or pay there and then. Breakfast was equally pleasing, options of Scottish breakfast or English muffin or kippers as well as a selection of fresh fruit, yogurts and cereals, fresh fruit juice and tea/coffee.

Bed was very comfy, room cosy and ample storage for your things. I had an excellent bath and lovely hot powerful showers.
Hotel is ideally located at the base of Ben Lomond and has plenty private parking. Lots of walking routes nearby the hotel. With a car you can access Drymen which is where the nearest shops/banks/doctors are 11 miles away.

My only little complaint would be the toilet flush is very loud and woke my other half up in the middle of the night... Slightly unavoidable though at 3am!

Room Tip: Room 5 is large and on 1st floor, avoid the rooms on the ground floor, reception is often unmanned and a bell rings which will disturb your peace!

Visited this hotel on a 2 night break. We thought the hotel would be ok,but probably pretty basic, however it turned out to be one of the best hotel breaks we've had and a lot of that was to do with the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff, they were happy to chat and equally happy to leave you in peace, our first night was very quiet as it had been snowing therefore unless you had a 4 wheel drive, it was going to be a very difficult journey, however the second night was very busy the staff remained as charming and helpfull as the first night.
Food was excellent and served in good time.
High quality of decor in the rooms, owners are in the process of doing the hotel up which obviously takes time. Will definitely be back.
